Example: Great features in a small package!

Don't think this camera is bad because of the price. I think the price of this camera is excellent. This camera can do everything that any other camera can do. The only thing is that the camera quality isn't the best. But if your a photographer than you can edit the picture. Overall I really recommend this camera to anyone.

Poor Reliability

First one failed after a year - just stopped working . Second after three months - up arrow stopped working. No more CoolPix.

Great little pocket camera

This isn’t my primary camera, I’ve got a D3300 for that. Obviously the DSLR is superior in every way, but you can’t carry it with you all the time. The A300 isn’t a pro camera, but it does what is expected of it. Sounds like most problems people are having are “cockpit” troubles, learn how to use it and it works well. Hoping to get a D5600 someday.

Shooting Function multi selector works poorly

I have had many cameras This is the worse. The Multi Selector button is poor. The up arrow rarely works. I would like to be able to change settings as easily as my last 2 cameras. I only want to point and shoot. No videos no Smart device connetions needed for me. I have read the online pdf manual over and over and spent hours trying to make it work. I just want to take simple photos of objects mostly indoors. I have had it only 7 months and it has just gotten worse. Not happy at all.

Used for about 1 year now. Not happy

I am a licensed General Contractor. I use a digital cameras to take pictures of site projects (for estimates, for repair evidence, for insurance damage, for progress-records, etc., etc.). I have used this camera for approx. 1 year, with thousands of pictures taken over hundreds of projects. The pictures come up blurry at least 50% of the time. It is HORRIBLE in low light, where as past digital cameras, and even my smart phone camera = are 100% better at low light picture-taking. It also takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r to sense light conditions + activate flash + auto-focus, and then take a picture (when you are trying to take multiple pics at a time. I've tried all kinds of adjustments with the camera settings, and have now given up on it completely. I am now using my smart phone camera, and I will be in the market for a different digital camera. This one is simply not good at all.

Complete waste of money

We have had Nikon Coolpix cameras before and have always been satisfied. We have had this Coolpix A300 camera for less than two months and we have completely given up on it. A lot of the pictures come out blurry and when reviewing pictures the camera does not go in order, but skips around. The camera is very slow to react making it frustrating when taking multiple pictures. Save your money.

Problems

I thought it was me. I have trouble change the flash settings. I figured that I needed to study it more. After the previous posts, I thing it is not me.

Very Short Life

I have had three Coolpix cameras. If it wasn't for the warranties offered by the stores, I wouldn't have bought the 2nd or third one. They work great when they work, but they only last just past the manufacturer warranty. Same problem each time. They just quit. I am looking elsewhere now. They are really not reliable and if you buy one make sure you get a replacement warranty with it. Otherwise you will waster your money.

The worst camera I have ever owned

I've been using digital cameras (including cell phone cameras) for over 15 years now, and this one is absolutely and definitely the worst quality camera I have ever used. I have a cell phone of comparable price that takes significantly better photos in all conditions. Nikon Coolpix A300 is absolutely useless in low light conditions. It's "optical zoom" is useless as well. Terrible in all regards.

Disappointed in Nikon

This is the worst Camera I have ever had. The flash is ridiculous. I use this for business and need an automatic flash as some rooms or areas are to dark. It says automatic flash, but it never works correctly. Did anyone even test this camera. I did not return it right away because I thought I was doing something wrong, and now it is past the return period. Now, I'm out the cost of the camera because I actually need a camera that works, and it won't be a Nikon. This will be the first time, I've ever owned anything other than a Nikon. Trust me, don't buy this camera. Save yourself the time and frustration.

It Would Be "Share Worthy" if SnapBridge Worked

I purchased this camera for its simplicity in taking photos, BUT also because of the supposed Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity to iPads and iPhones. After two days of fiddling and following conflicting instructions in the manual vs. a pdf put out by Nikon on iOS connectivity, I did get the SnapBridge app on our iPads to work. The attempts to pair our iPhones have failed, even though the camera and the devices are syncing up to the point of displaying identical pairing codes, but then the pairing inevitably fails with a "Failed to connect" message. I will be calling Nikon tomorrow to see what they have figured out or if firmware updates are in the offing. Otherwise i may return this camera, as one of its essential features is really not ready for prime time.
