I found this camera to be irritating. It takes good pix if you find the right scene selection and it takes too long to turn on. It took over 15 seconds to take a picture. If an animal was going by, you can't turn it on and snap it. The power saving feature was too quick. Less than a minute and its off. And no cable? For $100 it should be included. I am going to Yellowstone for a month so now I got to rely on my cellphone camera.. No more Nikon for me

I continue to be impressed by this camera. The zoom in excellent and when you enlarge the photo the detail is amazing. I love the settings, and have shot the beach at dusk, and even an evening shot in a pavilion that turned out great. I wish it had come with a plug to go to my computer so that I don't have to remove the card each time, but other than that, I can't wait to take more photos. Very very happy with this camera.

No user manual! Can't always get to a computer to load a CD (might not have ithe CD close by anyway) to look up a function/feature of this camera. I get it that CDs are cheaper and you might be saving a tree or two.and maybe some shipping expense. But when I try to download the manual from your web site it just shows blank pages and then crashes my computer. Very poorly done, really detracts from the value of the camera.

People might laugh at me when I tell then I'm bringing a L30 for my Nepal trip. Well, it's definitely not my primary camera but let me tell ya when my Nikon D3300 runs out of battery after a 2 week trek in the mountains without outlet, you wished you had a camera, just a basic simple camera to take a selfie beside Mount Everest. Problem solved. 2 A battery slots are so forgiving.

I started photography in the early 60's with an SLR film camera. I wanted a versatile compact camera for quick shots of everyday events. The L30 surpassed all expectations in ease of use, picture quality, and ease of use with the auto-focus feature. The auto-flash feature works well indoors as well as shooting subjects in the shade and low light levels. The optics on this camera are top notch and battery life is exceptional. I plan to buy another model in the future. I have recommended this camera to several others and have gotten great feedback from them as well. A great investment.

I was looking for a small, compact camera for travel that was easy to use, took great pictures and had lots of useful features. The Nikon Coolpix L30 should fit the bill. My biggest peeve is the long delay from depressing the shutter button and the camera saving the image. This camera took four-five seconds - my old camera takes two seconds tops. Every time I tried to view the picture I'd taken, up popped the message, "Please wait till camera is finished recording." I've never owned a camera that did this so it will take some getting used to. Another little peeve is that unless you have long fingernails, it can be tricky to eject the memory card while the batteries are still installed. Not a biggie, but annoying if you have to remove the batteries first. The quality of the images is better than I expected and the camera having 20 mp is a bonus - most of the others I evaluated had only 16 mp maximum. I also like the SCENE button rather than having to go through the Menu to access this feature. Overall, a decent camera and for $100, you get your money's worth. Looking forward to giving it a workout on my trip to Spain.

Great AA battery capability. Rechargables are great until it dies and you have no charger! Bad is the same dang battery door issues of breaking or easily breakable. Bad design.
