I hit this camera 2 years ago and almost instantly it started acting up, it would freeze and such. Not one to complain I figured it might need and update so I tried using the provided cord with my computer. Nope wouldn't work. I figured no worries I'll get a battery charger. Well now I purchased the WU-1a and it wont work, I must have a bad port. I love e the picture quality, but angry about the port issue

I absolutely love this camera, i bought it for my daughter and she uses it for her photography class in school, the lense is amazing and the zoom is so detailed unlike other cameras that when zoomed in are all blurry. It's a really good camera for someone who is learning. The battery does run out rather quickly but it's only a minor setback, it usually lasts like 6-8 hours.

The 42X is deceptive, The rated zoom starts at 4.3 mm and zooms to 180 mm. This is mostly unusable zoom. Comparing it to a 35 mm film camera it is only a 3.6X zoom. In addition the auto focus is extremely slow. It takes a few seconds to focus. If you are trying to get a bird picture it will likely fly away before the camera will focus. I have a cheap 15X camera that has more zoom and focuses much faster.

I was looking for something better than a cheap small point and shoot, but not as expensive as a DSLR (or requiring the amount of time learning about it and buying lenses and filters). My husband bought me this camera for Christmas this past year, and I am loving it. It's perfect for someone who is just starting out and doesn't want to invest a ton of money in to their camera set up. I was a little disappointed that I had to buy a lens adapter to be able to but filters and stuff on it, but they're relatively cheap on Amazon so no biggy.

Had this camera for about a month now and love it. Pictures come out clear and sharp. Video works great for sporting event, but wish the zoom was a little faster. Did some testing of the features and noticed that if you use the dedicated setting like the landscape setting vs auto the picture have more detail. Play with the camera to take in all the features and you will be amazed at what you can do.

Reluctantly purchased to use while waiting on my backordered P900 to arrive. Waiting 2 months now. Took a few pictures and played with the settings and am very happy with all the features that allow me to get the pictures and effects I wish. Downside, I have to buy an adapter to fit lens filters. My kid is going to get a very good camera when the P900 arrives, unless I fall in love with this camera in the Rockies next week.

This is a great all in one camera that is flexible and has a host of features like a 42x Zoom lens which is like having a 24mm-1000mm lens. I am shooting special events for my church for their Sunday Services and the pictures and videos have come out nicely. I just recently took pictures for the Decatur Celebration, which was a three day Event, and the pictures and videos came out great. thank you Nikon for making this nice and compact powerhouse camera!

This is my second Camera. My first Nikon. It is beyond awesome. It does everything but the dishes. Now in saying that... If you want a camera that you can just point and shoot this probably isn't the camera for you. There are a lot of features and settings to learn. I got mine in March and I still have ways to go. The video on the camera is like watching a tv movie. I just love this camera!

I had a Nikon Coolpix L110, I loved it! But it had slammed against the back seat and the LCD screen broke. My husband got me the Coolpix P530 for Christmas and I am in love with it! Takes awesome pictures and the battery lasts me a few days. I am just now exploring different settings on it, but I am happy with the auto settings it has!

Love It! Would recommend to anyone. And pretty sure this goes for entire Coolpix line. I run around in the woods in North West and its light and efficient. I have used it almost everyday for 8 months or so and although I have found a few areas which I need some more professional qualities' in a Camera. This will take anyone's photography to another level. If you spend time with it. Good Job Nikon you have a life long fan. I am not saying its perfect but it's very very very good.

I bought this camera during the holidays. After I saw how great the pictures were I found a new hobby. For someone like myself that knows nothing about photography this camera is for you. The automatic settings will dazzle your audience. And the zoom is amazing. I had folks asking me if I used a telescope when taking pictures of the moon. Honestly all I did was zoom out and use the moon setting :)

I have bought Nikon coolpix p530 and I am very happy with this camera. It has a lot of variable parameters, which can suite needs may be even professional photographer. In the same time I use auto mode and the camera takes excellent quality pictures even in very hard lighting conditions (dark or too bright conditions, see specification it has very wide range of exposure parameters such shutter speed, ISO and others). So far I almost do not use Flash, because the camera taking excellent pictures in most lighting conditions. The camera has option to save often used settings in User's profile U on the Mode Dial. Optical zoom x42 working excellent no matter if I am taking still images or in movie mode. Vibration compensation system VR, designed by Nikon working excellent. I checked it taking movie clip while being walking and results are excellent. I have turned OFF digital zoom in settings, because x42 optical zoom satisfies me fully. I have opened some pictures in Photo Now, zoomed them in and quality is excellent even with high magnification. I have taken a movie clip and played it on my Sharp wide screen 46 inch HD TV and quality is comparable with the movie taken using professional big camera for taking movies, which cost obviously more, then ten thousand dollars. I assume I have made excellent choice and I am very happy with my new camera Nikon Coolpix p530. Special Thanks to Nikon's designers.

I started with a P90 5 years ago and liked the camera. Dropped it and bought a P510 and absolutely loved it. Better than the P90. Versatile, quick shutter, clear crisp photos. It was a dream. Dropped it about 6 inches and the lens went out of whack. Then, unfortunately bought a P530 assuming (shame on me) that it would be even better than the P510. Wrong on all counts. Very slow shutter, no more tilted view screen, washed out colors and uncrisp photos. No wonder it was $ off a month ago and still is. Extremely disappointed.

What a AWESOME Camera!
By DawnieDew
This is my second Camera. My first Nikon. It is beyond awesome. It does everything but the dishes. Now in saying that... If you want a camera that you can just point and shoot this probably isn't the camera for you. There are a lot of features and settings to learn. I got mine in March and I still have ways to go. The video on the camera is like watching a tv movie. I just love this camera!
The Nikon Coolpix P530 Digital Camera (Black) is a 16.1 megapixel point-and-shoot camera with a 42x optical zoom NIKKOR lens featuring a focal length of 4.3-180mm and a variable aperture of f/3-5.9. This 35mm equivalent zoom range of 24-1000mm allows you to shoot wide and at super telephoto distances, making the P530 a versatile camera capable of high resolution images and full HD 1920 x 1080 video. Also, the lens has optical image stabilization in the form of Vibration Reduction for reducing the effects of camera shake at long focal lengths and slow shutter speeds.
For viewing images and changing settings there is a 3" LCD display as well as an electronic viewfinder. Both of these offer 100% coverage during shooting for helping achieve proper composition. Also, the P530 features a variety of exposure modes, including full manual, shutter priority, aperture priority and program.
When shooting in low-light situations, there is a built-in flash available. The P530 also saves images to either built-in memory or to an SD card. And, if you want Wi-Fi connectivity, this camera is compatible with the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter (available separately).
