Bought camera in August, Autofocus caused all movies to be out of focus, 3 months later normal snapshots all started coming out blurry. reset to default settings, no change, used anti shake setting no change, used tripod no change. Complained to customer support who told me since I didn't have receipt for online purchase they wouldn't honor warranty despite camera being 3 months old. Old Coolpix had sharp pictures, was far superior to this one even before totally blurry recent shots.

Shutter on my Coolpix fell out contacted Nikon the had me send it in for repair. I sent it to where they told me. I then checked the status and was told the shutter was not under warranty. now mind you I have used this camera only 5 times. had stored it in the protective sleeve and in the original box. And at no time was it dropped or banged into nothing. So it was a manufacturing problem. And I was told I would have to pay for the repair. I would not buy a Nikon product.

I bought this camera after returning a very subpar Polaroid digital camera and am just amazed at how high quality the photos are! My mom had a Nikon Coolpix camera several years ago and she was very pleased with hers so I decided to get a Nikon Coolpix as well based on that and the fact that the Walmart Photo Center also uses this model. If you want great quality photos, go with this camera! You WON'T be disappointed.

I bought the model before this one and had some connectivity issues at first, but then it stopped. Thought it was my computer USB port. I used it only 7 mos and it quit connecting or charging alltogether. I bought it at Target and they couldn't scan it in their system since it was over 6 mos old and I had lost my receipt, so I couldn't send it back to Nikon. I searched again for cameras and thought I would try it again because it is a cheap camera that takes very good pics and videos along with easy to use. But...this time I bought the Target service plan real cheap and will keep all those papers in the box! It's not top of the line of course, but for someone that takes a lot of digital pictures and rarely prints them, it's OK.

Just got this a few days ago, used to own a Canon. Gave up on that brand for multiple reasons. This camera will take a little to get used to, but so far it is far superior. Crisp images, good video quality. So far, I am very impressed with the quality. Only beefs - video format is mov, would have preferred avi. When taking video in highest resolution you need a large capacity memory card if you want more than 8-10 minutes of video. If you're looking for a decent point and shoot, this is a great one despite the above beefs. Once you get used to how it works (which even I am still doing) you will love it.

Picked up this camera to replace a S3500 model that I broke. This is an old friend format. Got the camera for having a "Pocket Camera" with me all the time. As a working professional photographer, I want a camera with me all the time, but I don't like to haul around the "Big Gun" everywhere. As a Crew member on a running steam locomotive, I want a camera that I can carry with me and get good pictures at a moments notice. The S3600 fills the bill. 20MP size, good enough for 16x20 prints, Light weight and size to cary in your pocket. And it's functions give me a wide range of choices to handle most anything I've come across. Good wide angle, and close-up ability. BTW the video is pretty darn good too. Came with Battery, Strap, Charger w/cord, Software, Instruction Book(printed) and a full Nikon warranty. All said, Great little general use, everyday camera.

Unlike the review form Canada, my camera came with everything. Plus a CD to download my pictures to my laptop for editing.

Unlike the S3500, this camera does NOT have the EN-EL19 Rechargeable Battery included. You have to pay extra for more and more parts.
