I use my d600 for senior pictures and family pictures. It is easy to use and it's smaller body size is comfortable to carry. The 24 mp sensor allows cropping and still getting a sharp picture. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to move up to an fx camera.

I purchased Nikon Refurbished camera. It had more than 15,000 shutter releases! The body had signs of heavy use and and sensor was all dirty with oil spots. It just looked like a repackaged used camera in a bad shape.

This is my first full frame camera, so my brief review is based on my experience with a DX camera (Nikon D5000). Going from DX to full frame is sweeeet!!!! The D600 feels solid in your hand. No problem with the sensor. The learning curve is short.

Customer asked: A shopper asked: As a travel camera under non-ideal circumstances (i.e. no control on subject, no control on light, no tripod, no second take shots, hand held and moving, zone focus, etc), what are the real advantages of the full frame D600 over APS-C D7100? Low light advantage of D600 is understandable but if you are going to use a flash, the advantage is probably not much in practice. The answer is not simple and relates to how the end product is to be used. First and foremost, the D600 can use FX and DX lenses and the D7100 cannot. The ISO on the D600 is relatively noise free to about 2400. The full frame feature is a plus but only if you are in need of high resolution of heavily cropped pictures. The simple answer is the D600 is more versatile for the professional but probably overkill for the amature, serious or non-serious in skill level.

Love, Love, Love this camera as an upgrade to my D90. So oil/dust issues so far. Great value given the timing of D610 coming out.

Amazing low-light sensativity Meter AI legacy lenses Improves on D700, D4 image quality Fast shutter speed 2 SD card slots (ideal for weddings and events) Refurbished model came with 0 shutter accuations. Does this mean shutter was replaced? No oil, no dust. Trust in D600.

I bought this camera as a backup to my D4 and D800. Given it was a backup, refurbished was a great way to go. In fact I now use it for family travel given its light weight. I have not had a single issue with the sensor or any other part of this refurbished camera. I think Nikon did a great job with quality control and the refurbish process. Refurbished is a great price saving way to go. I'm glad they make these available at a reasonable discounted price.

When it comes to cameras there is very little camera cannot do I have shot it all over India, Safaris in Africa, mountains, forests, events etc The 24mp and great performance at iso 6400 gives this camera try punch for its price and power The only time I would have liked it a build in GPS that would make grouping the photos so much easier. Wifi function could good but when you are shooting in the middle of know where a built in GPS the same as the one in the d5300 and 5d mark 3 would help Overall, solid build, solid performer and built in flash has saved me more time than you know. Great deal

I've read about the dreaded dust spots, but my copy has none after several thousand shots. When I received the body, the shutter count was near zero, so maybe it had a new shutter. In any case, the D600 has been great. I love the full frame shallow depth of field, the amazing high ISO performance of the sensor and the ergonomics of the body. I rarely shoot video, so no comments there. The shutter is really quiet in normal modes. I wish the focusing area was a bit larger, but I focus and recompose if needed. It's fast enough for my needs and the buffer is big enough to hold plenty of raw ages at the highest frame rate- I shoot in bursts for action and have never exceeded the buffer capacity. After coming from a D90, I feel like I'm using my X-700 again.

I purchased this camera refurbished and it arrived with less than 400 clicks on the shutter. In excellent condition. The LCD screen protector could use a replacement as it just falls sometimes, but that's minor. No scratches and no signs of previous use. Camera has a much better sensor than my D700. I'm very impressed. I was expecting it to be lighter than my D700, but the difference is not enough to let that be a determinig factor in a purchase. I really enjoy the video feature in it, and I'm sure it'll become part of my style as a figure out the best way to integrate it. Overall, extremely happy with my purchase. The only drawback is the size of the RAW files. I really enjoyed the 12MP files of the D700 as compared to the 24MP of the D600. That's why it doesn't get 5 stars.

This is a phenomenal camera, but it has a problem that makes it a high maintenance piece of equipment going forward. After several hundred shutter actuations, oil/lubricant spots begin to appear on the sensor. They tend to cluster on the upper left portion of the images, and are most noticeable at higher apertures against solid color backgrounds. Everything else about this camera is great, but after returning my second one I've decided to try another model or buy a factory new unit and hope for the best.

I'd been wanting to get an FX sensor camera for a while, but the cost was a stumbling block after just investing in the D7100. Adorama had the D600 refurb and in couldn't pass it up. So much value for the money and a cheap way to get into full frame. I love the camera and feel right at home with the menu and features. I've been shooting mostly with a 50 1.4 & 85 1.8 and loving the shots so much I haven't missed putting on a longer focal length lens.

Purchased a refurb D600 to be used as more of a point & shoot and backup to my D4 and D3s- Wanted something smaller to tote around and am thoroughly impressed with the dynamic range and color reproduction from this little thing. Would prefer to have it used CF cards (simply for consistency of cards with other cameras) but it performs really well, and that's all one could expect. Refurb was in pristine condition with only 400 clicks, and except for the lack of original gold Nikon box, I'd consider it new. The $400+ savings is worth not having the box. Overall, very satisfied...

The camera is incredible. Dynamic range, high-Iso performance and focus lock are all improved over my trusty old D7000. I did have a slight dust issue, but that disappeared around 3k clicks.

The biggest poing here is the refurbished product. I was a little hesitant but honestly I could not spot a single difference compared to the new one. Yes, of course it came in a plain cardboard box, but actually that's an advantage. I don't like too much packaging anyway. Works like a charm and it has warmer skin tones compared to my previous canon. Overall super happy.

The last time I ordered from Adorama was back in the early 80's back in the days of 35mm. When I found myself looking to purchase a full frame Nikon digital back to use with my menagerie of vintage Nikkor lenses they were my first stop and it was a flawless transaction just as I recall from the past. The new D600 works great with all of my old gear even my old SB22 flash and I was pleased to find that my 70-210 f4.0 auto lens that I had never used on an auto focus body all these years actually works in full auto mode. The D600 is the absolute best digital body Nikon makes.

This thing arrived as good as new. with the money savings, i purchased a warranty with which i could bounce it against a brick wall and not worry. also a refurb 85mm 1.8, and a few other items. Overall, i'm glad i went refurbish. no dust or sensor issues to my eye though admittedly i am not a pixel peeper. just retouch and fix issues the naked eye will be able to see if printing or publishing to web

Major step up from DX format. Much more control over depth of field, 6400 ISO allows inside shots without flash at more than acceptable shutter speeds. Feels great in hands and controls are intuitive. Large LCD screen is great outdoors.

I shoot stills professionally but not full time, I mostly shoot video these days. So I wanted a full frame camera but the 5DMK2 is a little steep. I rented this camera and a D800 for a commercial shoot and felt the ergonomics and feature set of the D600 was actually better for me than the more expensive D800. Like all Nikon digital cameras, the menus are a bear. But the controls are logical and the image quality is superb. The only negative for me is that I can't get it to use the manual iris of my AF-D lenses in video mode. Works fine with older completely manual lenses. All in all it's been nice breathing new life into my 40 year old Nikkors. I'd highly recommend this camera, and Adorama's price and service is spot on.

Have just began shooting this D600 in the field but I am already very pleased with the results. Everything I had heard about refurbed cameras being the way to go seems to be dead on. Under close inspection I cannot distinguish it from an off-the-line unit. Very happy to save $400 and get a camera that has been hand-inspected in the US by Nikon USA.

After doing some research, I found that refurbished camera equipment can be a great buy. What happens with these cameras when they are sold refurbished is they come from the manufacturer after being tested for the quality of a new camera that is about to be sold for full retail price. Usually the way these cameras have been handled before they are sent to the factory is they are display models or models used by sales people. In other words, they have little use before they are refurbished. Think of it like used cars from a car rental place. Very few miles, kept in great condition, and bugs have been fixed along the way. What is great too is that you get a manufacturer warranty for 90 days if something were to happen. Great buy, highly recommended.

I couldn't be happier with the move from my d5100 to this bad boy. Fantastic image quality, even at high ISO, easy access to controls via buttons [no digging through menus required], dual SD slots, weather sealed...the list goes on and on describing this great product. No sensor issues to speak of here and what a great deal on a factory refurb. If you are looking to make the move to full frame, you can't go wrong with this body.
