Questions & Answers

Shopper : what does it mean "body only"?DAVID S : It means without a lens, the camera body only.KAREN S : It means that it has NO lens. You cannot use the camera without a lens but if you have a lens from another Nikon camera it might be interchangeable and then all you need is a body. You can get multiple lenses for this type of camera as well.BILLY R : it means that it is just the camera....no lens includedFLAVIO B : It means only the body of the camera, without the lensENRICO S : It means that it comes without any lenses; so just the camera body and standard accessories (battery, charger, strap, etc.). You will have to buy your lenses separately, or go with a kit that includes the body and a lens to start you off.SCOTT W : It means that the camera does not come with a lens. If you do not have a len that fits it already then you won't be able to take pictures until you get one.SARA W : it means you get the camera body, without a lens (as shown in the picture).
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?Robert R : Because of its CCD sensor. I like the CCD colors vs the CMOS sensor colors. It also is smaller & lighter than my D200 and FF cameras . Attached with a AFS-17-55mm f/2.8G, this rig goes with me every where. My AFS-18-200mm lens also seems to have a slightly better IQ with is small camera. It has been a great buy for me..

Very reliable camera

Bought this camera for my wife because it is reasonably light and easy to use. She has taken some nice family and travel photos with it.

Surprisingly Good Images & Good Backup

Easy to read and change settings using the LCD screen; the D60 is light in weight, takes very nice pictures and is affordable.

Goto small camera

I shoot FX but originally bought the D60 with a voigtlander 20 and 40 mm lens as a high quality goto combo instead of a point and shoot, and as a spare body for emergencies. Changed the focus screen to improve manual focus accuracy. It's a great little camera and the refurb appeared as new. Benefits from a fast card since write times are slow.

Nikon D60 Camera Body Refurbished

I purchased the refurbished D60 because I wanted a camera that was smaller, lighter, and less expensive than my D200 for snapshots and to take aboard research vessels in the marine environment (I'm a marine biologist). Even though I recently purchased a D7000 as an upgrade to the D200, I still take the D60 to places where I wouldn't want to take the more expensive cameras. It takes great photos and I'm very happy with it. It may not be able to use my non-CPU lenses, and it may not have the high ISO quality of the D7000, but I knew that when I got it and it does just what I wanted it to do. I would have no hesitation whatsoever recommending refurbished Nikon products.

great camera at a great price

I purchased this as a spare camera to go with a nikon d90. The refurbished model was immaculate and looked brand new. It performed very well after setting the camera to my preferences. I sold this camera after a few months to purchase a refurbished nikon d80 from adorama. The only reason I sold this small light camera was the lack of an internal auto focus motor. My non af-s lenses couldn't auto focus with it. The image quality was very similar to my d90 on normal size prints. Why pay more when refurbished serves your purpose well?

was not impressed with this one

I bought the refurbished D-60 as a back up to my new one and when it arrived it was dirty like it had been dropped and the continious frames stopped at three frames so returned it and the D-5000 had just came out so bought that for my main camera. I think one slipped through the cracks.I trust Nikon and have owned them for most of my life, I believe the refurbised camera to be OK, I just got a bad one.

I really like the Nikon D60. Manual no.

I have only taken a couple of dozen pictures to this point. I like the results so far. I do not find the manual intuitive. It is necessary, but difficult to use.

A sweet spot for Nikon DSLR models

I have a D80. It was too heavy to be comfortable for me. This D60 is lighter and more fun to use. I find I understand and utilize the menues more in this model. This will help me when I use the D80 again. This is one of the first cameras I have used that I can see the info in the viewfinder and use that info to tweek my settings, usualy this info is too small or indecipherable. The D3000 looked like it was dumbed down and had performance issues so I bought this reburbished (took a gamble there) and am VERY HAPPY.

D60 camera

The nikon D60 SLR is a great camera for both amateur and professional photographers. I am a student at Austin Peay State University, graphic design major, and this camera is the best one I've used. The quality of the photos is wonderful, they are great for small format as well as large format posters.

"Great Camera for the Price"

I'm a first time SLR user. I looked for a few months on different websites for different brands and came across Adorama and their referbished products. Not wanting to spend the money on a new one (for my first SLR), I tried it out. I am thrilled by the fantastic pictures it takes and the quality of the body. After seeing the quality of the pictures, I went back and purchased two more lens' and filters also referb. The only disappointing thing about this camera is the viewfinder, I was used to a point and shoot and looking at a screen to find my subjects. However, I knew that the D60 did not have one on my purchase, so it really wasn't a big deal. If you are looking for a great camera, look no further... Great price-Great camera only at Adorama! Trust me, I've looked everywhere. [...] I will NOT purchase camera products anywhere else but Adorama! Way to go guys!

Excellent

Easy to take the light D60 with you, I also have the excellent D90. The D60 is absolutely a very good choice. The camera was refurbished by Nikon, but it seemed to be brand new.

Love my D60

I bought my D60 after my D40 "disappeared" rather someone stole. I have a couple friends with the D60 and I'm glad I listened to them. I am very happy with my D60. While I am a beginner, I have taken some pretty amazing shots with this camera. It's easy to use and a wonderful camera for someone starting out just like me! I highly recommend it! And with Adorama, I got the camera in lightning speed time and in GREAT shape!

Good deal!

I just bought the camera body with a f1.8 35mm nikkor lens. Really good pics with low light. I use as a second camera to take pics without flash, so I don't have to change the settings every time.

Great starter D-SLR camera

I take lots of photos from a kayak. I killed a Nikon D40X when I went upside down with my camera around my neck. This D60 camera replaced that D40x body. I like this camera better. It has newer features like sensor cleaning. The pictures just look a little better to me as well. I would rather have a D3, D700 or D300 but I would not want to risk it in my water sport.

Love it! Just like brand new!

This is my first DSLR and I'm very happy! I'm using my old lenses from my N2020. Although the auto focus doesn't work with my lenses, the range finder helps my old eyes produce beautifully focused pictures. Couldn't be happier!

Excellent Camera - and Price

I bought this camera in late May to take on a trip to Costa Rica. Later I used it to take pictures on the beach of my family, even using the timer function. The pictures turned out great! I am very pleased with the quality and ease of use.

I am a training to become a professional photograper and I bought this camera. This is my first DSL and I have to say I love it! Nikon is known to be one of the best and they've lived up to that standard with this camera. It's very easy to use. The price can't be beat. Don't be discouraged because it's refurbished, mine works beautifully! LOVE IT!

Amazing buy - you won't regret it

What an amazing buy. I purchased this to use as our dedicated photo booth camera for events and weddings. Our other gear includes a D300 and a D700, so this is by far the lowest end - but still a real gem. I'm dutr it had the same 10.1MP CMOS sensor that's in the now-retired D200. For this price, you can't go wrong. We use it with a low-end, but decent, lens (Tamon Di-II 17-50mm pro) and it's simply great as a photo booth camera. The funny thing is that it's so simple we find it a little hard to use (only one command dial, no up-top LCD, etc) - but again, for the intended usage, and for this killer price, can't go wrong. The only other thing I dislike is that you can't program the remote to be active for longer than 15 minutes, which is a nuisance. Ours was spotless, and only had around 130 shutter actuations, and the battery was fully charged to boot. Seriously ... can't say enough good things. Nikon p0wn3z. You won't regret this purchase - get it and spend the money on some good glass. Great starter dSLR. A+

In BRAND NEW condition, amazing quality

Just got mine in the mail today, my first time DSLR, so hang with me. Its a GREAT camera, I bought mine with a nikon 50mm 1.8 lens, sharpest cheap lens that money will buy you, without a doubt a versatile lens also. Easy menus, good shutter capabilites with the right amount of light, built in flash is pretty much junk, cant do more than 1/200 shutter speed with built in flash. GREAT under and overexposure for this price range, second to none quality in the sensor and lcd. If you are looking to buy a good, but cheaper dslr, get this one.

Excellent Buy, awesome camera!

Bought the refurbished unit, very pleased! I wouldnt be able to tell the difference between this and a brand new unit... I also got the Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens, and I would recommend it to anybody, especially if your planning on travelling. Just returned from a two week trip overseas and it took excellend shots, at fast shutter speed or night shots (took a little tweaking for best shots). Tip: take most shots with the flash inhibited!

Excellent for my needs

By TK

I liked my first D60 so much, bought this as a second body from Adorama so I would not have to change lens as often. Refurbished by Nikon, it was just like brand new out of the box and saved me more than $100.00. The D90 would have been my next preference, but the D60 is a great value. I am an amateur-to-advanced enthusiast; and this camera serves my needs well.

Great deal, excellent camera

By Jakeb17

I can't believe this is actually refurbished......it seems brand new. There was not even a single smudge or finger print on the screen. However, after a few days, and in hot temperatures, i had a single hot pixel show up in the bottom left corner, when shooting jpegs. Considering how prevalent hot pixels are in digital cameras anyway, and the fact that they don't appear when shooting in camera RAW, i don't think this is a significant problem. Just like the camera condition, the actual attr...
