SHLOMO B : does it have the regular warranty?
Shopper : Does this include battery and charger?CHERYL S : Yes, my new one and the refurbished body I bought both had battery/charger included.MICHAEL G J : Typically anything Nikon has refurbished will be shipped with all the components of a new unit. If you scroll down and look on the right side of the product page, you'll see a sidebar entitled "What's in the Box:" There you will see all the sundry items that ship with the camera. When I bought my refurbished D610, mine came with everything listed in that sidebar, most importantly the charger and a battery.RON I : Mine did! I have had it for a little over 3 years and works wonderfully.EDWIN S : Yes it does. It comes with everything like it was new except it will be in a white box that says Refurbished on the outside instead of the gold box that all new Nikons come in.
Shopper : Can you buy an extended warranty for a refurbished camera?EDWIN S : Not through Nikon that I'm aware of. Maybe via third party?

This is an awesome camera for the price!

This is the first real camera I have ever bought. I bought this camera primarily for astrophotography and landscape photography and have not been disappointed with its performance! I could not believe the picture quality when I was doing astrophotography. I was even able to have one of my astrophotography photographs blown up to 3 feet X 5 feet to hang on one of my walls in my house. I am still amazed at the detail after having it blown up. My friends can't get over the fact that I took that picture! It took a little bit of time to learn all of the functions on it, but in three months time I pretty much had all of the functions down. I am still learning how to use it and it keeps getting better and better all the time. I have had this camera for 4 years and thought about upgrading to a D850, but I could not justify the price for it. If I were shooting professionally I would buy one, but since I am not there is no reason for me to upgrade. Instead I decided to buy some polarized filters for my lenses instead and what a difference that made. I can't get over the sharpness and detail I now get with my lenses during daylight hours. I also like the capability of doing time lapse shooting, which I have played with and plan on doing more in the future. This camera really has it all! Whenever I am on a road trip with my friends, they are always looking forward to the pictures I take. They cannot get over the quality of the pictures I take with the camera. This is the best camera I have ever owned. I thought I was having problems with the oil spots everybody has written about, but I found out it was just dust on the sensor.

Not to be overlooked

I've been shooting with the 610 since my 600 was replaced because of the sensor spotting issue (yes, it became noticeable on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to southern Utah with cloudless blue skies....). I've been very happy with this camera and don't hesitate to recommend it. I've gotten some stunning photos over the years and while I keep thinking of reasons to upgrade, I've yet to make the plunge into the next tier of Nikon products. Maybe when the 880 comes out? If you're on a budget and have other Nikon gear, this is a good camera to start with.

Great camera! Great price! Shipped Fast!

Unbelievable camera. Exif data showed it had 52 clicks. A person I work with has a D750. This camera is unbelievably clearer better pics with the same lens! (Visible with the naked eye on the camera screen and on a 23" monitor). Adorama had the best price out there. On ebay they sell for more...used.

Good camera but not 100% Happy.....

The camera itself works as expected, I’m just not too happy about been stuck between their pricing game (ups & downs) ending up paid $50.00 more than their all time “regular price” (650.00), still thankful though, Adorama.

Excellent Camera and Great Service

My wife and I were looking to upgrade from a crop sensor. We settled on a used D610. Adorama answered all our questions prior to purchasing it and shipped it quickly. The grip on the D610 feels great and the camera has a nice weight. Coming from a crop sensor, the difference is very noticeable. The photos are sharp and rich in color. It has been a joy shooting with it and I recommend the D610 as an excellent choice for starting out with full frame camera bodies.

The D610 is an excellent way to acclimate to the FX format.

As a long term semi-pro, I cut my teeth on Nikon and Nikkor products. I never thought I would transition away from my 35mm F5. But as digital cameras took their place in the pecking order I started using a D200 and then a D300 exclusively. With a Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens, I was making extraordinary photos. Time to step into a new world of photography and the D610 felt right. Intuitive controls, many fail safe features and with a 24-120mm VR N lens, I couldn't be more happy with my landscape and even small-subject work. A 70-300mm lens fills out the balance of my shooting but this camera is the highlight of my photo taking experience. The photos are rich and detailed and never more sharp and clear as I have always demanded from my Nikon products. The excellent videos are a terrific bonus!

Excellent Camera & Excellent Value

I am extremely happy with this Nikon D610 bundle. I have been shooting for years with an older Nikon D7000 body, and I was looking to upgrade to a full frame camera to replace it. I had been looking at used D610 camera bodies, but then I stumbled on this bundle. The value of this bundle can't be beat. Coming from a DX camera body, I was in need of a FX series lens, and the battery grip and wireless adapter were items I would have looked to purchase eventually. The price of this bundle makes this package an awesome value. The D610 has been excellent. I immediately noticed a huge improvement in the overall image quality. Even in 2020, this camera produces images that rival the newest cameras on the market. The color rendering and detail captured are excellent. The camera produces better images in low light than my older DX camera, and the grain in the higher ISO settings is much improved. As a full package, this bundle can't be beat.

Love it so far

Love the camera so far! Took some shots at a snowmobile race and they turned out fabulous. The autofocus is fast enough to track the snowmobiles at 90 mph! Could not beat the price Adorama had on this full frame camera, and the freebies are great!

A "geezer's" initial evaluation of this unit.

First! HOORAY! It came with a PRINTED manual!!!! This is very important for an elderly user who predominately takes outdoor pictures. I was able to make my standardized settings relatively easy: ASA/SP/bracketing. As I get accustomed to the unit, I will try to employ TIFF and full-frame settings, However, it does not replace my preferred "mini" camera: Canon A-140.

Absolutely ecstatic!

I am so pleased with this purchase. I researched it for weeks and Adorama was absolutely the best option. Other stores had gray Market options that we're only a few hundred dollars cheaper. Buying the real thing and knowing that you've got a great product is so satisfying. I returned to Adorama and purchased the 24 to 70 Nikon lens as well as the 28 to 300. I'm using them for product photography that I already have lighting and boxes for so it is a business expense oh, but it is a joy to play with them knowing they are the best out there in my price bracket.

A lot of camera with lens and other items for a great price.

The brand new Nikon D 610 is still a good camera and I just had to get it as I already still have an old Nikkor from the film days. It's a camera that gives excellent image quality which is why I buy a camera. Recommended.

Nikon used to be the real deal

I have always been a crop sensor user ever since moving from film to digital. I previously owned Nikon APS-c bodies, but one day upgraded to a D7000 and that is when I realized NIKON was losing its grip on Quality Control, the D7000 had a back focus issue. In short Nikon refused to fixed the camera, even though Nikon knew it was a factory defect. So I sent my camera to a repair shop and they did what Nikon would not do for only $250, then I sold the camera and went with other brands (Pentax, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus, and they all delivered greatness). Now after seeing the D-610 on sale bundled with lots of goodies at an irresistible price, I said, it is my time to enter the Full Frame world (BTW FF is overrated). To my disappointment when setting the camera to live view mode for video shooting, that is when the mirror locked up and never unlocked again yielding the camera useless. I could not believe what was happening, fortunately it was within 40 minutes of having the camera delivered to my doorsteps, after talking to ADORAMA they offered a full refund. I have nothing bad to say about picture quality, I think NIKON delivers great color and contrast, but it is pointless if the cameras are failing in built quality. So if NIKON works great for you, good, as for me it did not. Please put your camera through some usage and check it well before the return period ends, or get a third party warranty in case NIKON does not do its job.

Great camera and package deal

I had researched many many different cameras and decided that as an advanced hobbyist I was ready for full frame. I looked into mirrorless and then into dslr's...the weight of dslr's doesn't bother me, so I was more than happy with a dslr. On cyber Monday, Adorama was hosting some amazing deals and I noticed a great deal on this camera package, with a grip, and a 50mm lens- virtually for free, given what the Nikon d610 was worth. I pulled the trigger, it came in quickly- thanks Adorama! I have used this camera/ lens combo for a couple of weeks now, and I am very impressed. Glad I made the move to Nikon and to full frame. This camera is still very good, very capable, and with a deal like this, you can't go wrong.

It's time to clear up some questions and concerns brought up by previous reviews. Great Camera

By Mitch

Was quite surprised with it's performance. Works very well in low light, creating crisp sharp images. The body is light weight and well balanced. With controls that you can still use in AUTO mode, or program your own settings. I have used the D800, and in comparing them. I have discovered unless you are a professional photographer and need the very best. The D610 will suit all of your needs, and more. I truly enjoy working with it.

Nikon D610 Packed with features that rival cameras costing nearly twice as much, the Nikon D610 is the least expensive full-frame 35mm sensor DSLR that Nikon makes and is a great way to enter full frame photography. Nikon says the 24.3MP FX-format CMOS sensor produces clean, noise-free images from ISO 100-6400. It can be expanded to 25,600. The camera offers 39 autofocus sensors for wide area AF coverage, including 9 cross-type sensors and 7 center focus points that work down to f/8. users can toggle between 9, 21 and 39 point autofocus

An all-new Continuous Quiet Mode is a burst rate that is accomplished in live view, without raising or lowering the mirror. This allows for high-speed photography in quiet shooting situations. Burst rate is 6 frames per second.

Optimized for full-frame shooting, streamlined for compactness and value, the D610 will fuel your photographic passion like never before

Nikon's Full-frame sensor raises the bar on image quality Stunning detail and NIKKOR lenses
Passionate photographers who seek uncompromised full-frame, high-resolution performance rely on Nikon FX-format HD-SLRs. With a level of performance only bested by Nikon's own D800 series D-SLRs, D610's 24.3 megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor, wide dynamic range and high S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio captures every detail with lifelike sharpness and low noise throughout its wide ISO range. Low-light performance is synonymous with Nikon shoot crystal clear images from ISO 100 to 6400, expandable down to 50 and up to 25,600 for extreme situations. EXPEED 3 processing system manages all that data with remarkable speed and accuracy, enabling up to 6 fps continuous shooting at full resolution in both FX and DX formats. Whether shooting people, landscapes or close-ups you'll marvel at D610's faithful color reproduction. Add Nikon's newest selection of affordable fast f/1.8 primes, compact wide ratio zooms with VR image stabilization or tele- and supertelephoto lenses and you'll see the full potential that the D610 offers.

Remarkable AF performance with compatibility up to f/8 sensitivity benefits action and wildlife photography
One of the keys to capturing razor-sharp images is a fast, precise autofocus system, and the D610 has one of the best. 39 tightly packed focus points with wide-area AF coverage offer endless compositional possibilities. Nine cross-type sensors in the center offer superior accuracy even when light and contrast are scarce. Seven center focus points work all the way down to f/8 for extended AF functionality with teleconverters and long-reach lenses. Switch between 9, 21 or 39 point AF, allowing for compositional freedom. D610's Scene Recognition System's subject identification and tracking information means enhanced performance by 3D Tracking and Auto Area AF. When shooting photos or HD video in Live View, Nikon's responsive contrast-detect AF activates for accurate fulltime autofocusing.

Exceptional performance and quality Flawless metering and onboard intelligence
The D610 delivers consistently beautiful images, thanks to Nikon's intel ligent Scene Recognition System with 3D Color Matrix Metering II. Its 2,016 pixel RGB sensor evaluates every scene, taking into account brightness, contrast, subject distance and the scene colors, all within the time it takes to press the shutter release button. That data is then referenced against an onboard image database for consistently accurate exposures, auto white balance, i-TTL flash and subject-tracking autofocus performance.

Broadcast-quality Full HD video at your fingertips Two video formats in one camera
Nikon is committed to developing HD-SLRs that empower and inspire filmmakers and video enthusiasts, and the D610 is proof of that. Shoot 1080p HD videos with selectable frame rates of 30p, 25p or 24p and MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression. Bend time with 720p HD at 60p, 50p or 30p for ultra-smooth video playback of fast moving subjects, or create slow-motion footage during post processing. Manually adjust ISO, shutter speed and aperture, activate Live View shooting's fulltime AF with face-priority and subject tracking or manually focus. Experience dedicated inputs for an optional stereo mic and headphones for monitoring sound, still image exporting, uncompressed recording of video via HDMI out to an external recorder, simultaneous live view on external monitors and much more. Multi-area mode Full HD D-Movie gives you compositional freedom using FX or DX movie formats. Enhance your video with the dramatic perspectives and depth-of-field control of Nikon's full line of NIKKOR interchangeable lenses, and you'll dazzle with every video project.

Nikon D610 Features

  • FX format makes a difference: The D610's FX-format CMOS image sensor will transport your photography to new heights. Boasting a larger pixel than you'll get in other formats with the same pixel count, it's able to capture more light. This technical advantage has a huge impact on dynamic and image quality at high ISOs.
  • 4 key assets: Vital elements for a formidable machine - FX-format sensor, EXPEED 3, Picture Control and NIKKOR
  • NIKKOR: NIKKOR lenses realize the sensor's full potential, achieving exquisite sharpness with minimized aberration, while rendering spectacular bokeh for a three dimensional look that's true-to-life.
  • EXPEED 3: The D610 takes full advantage of Nikon's EXPEED 3, the same image-processing engine found in the D4 and D800 series, meaning it can swiftly manage the large data files that an FX-format sensor produces.
  • Picture Control technology: Picture Control technology makes it simple to tailor the look and feel of your stills and videos by fine-tuning their parameters using preset options. And with enhanced auto white balance accuracy for common shooting scenarios, the D610 reproduces colors naturally and precisely.
  • 6-fps continuous shooting: It's easier than ever to nail key moments with the D610. The camera boasts even faster continuous shooting than its predecessor, at up to approx. 6 fps in FX and DX formats - amazing when you consider that the former is recording 24.3 megapixels with each shot.
  • Qc shutter-release mode for quiet operation [NEW]: The D610's new Qc (quiet continuous) shutter-release mode reduces mirror noise while still offering up to 3 fps, for maximum discretion in situations such as ceremonies and school plays, or when taking pictures of wildlife and insects.
  • Approx. 100% frame coverage: The bright, clear glass prism of the D610's optical viewfinder covers approx. 100% of the image area, an invaluable asset for accurate framing. The approx. 0.7x magnification - the same as the D4 and D800/D800 - means it's easy to see all the visual elements in the viewfinder.
  • 39 focus points and f/8 compatibility: The D610's AF system gives you absolute confidence when capturing moving subjects by using 39 strategically placed focus points, with nine powerful cross-type sensors in the center to maintain accuracy even when light and contrast are low.
  • Double SD card slots: The D610's double SD card slots provide multiple options for recording and storing large files: you can write RAW and JPEG data to separate cards, copy from one card to another, or select a slot according to the remaining capacity during video shooting.
  • Dependable body and shutter: The D610's rugged body utilizes a durable magnesium alloy for the top and rear frames, and its weather-sealing gives it the same dust and moisture proof reliability as the D800 series.
  • Built-in flash to trigger remote Speedlights: The D610's built-in flash makes Advanced Wireless Lighting with Nikon Speedlights even easier and more portable. Turn the flash to commander mode and you can wirelessly trigger your remote Speedlights (SB-700 or SB-910) with ease.
  • Full HD D-Movie and time-lapse feature: The D610 can record 1080p Full HD video at 30p in H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, with a choice of both FX- and DX-based movie formats, plus comprehensive audio control including a dedicated stereo headphone connector.
