Nikon D7000 body in 2024

Bought "heavily used grade" D7000 Nikon body and was surprised how nice camera is. 44,000 accuations, one small chip next to battery door (non issue), and one small button not working on front for focusing areas. Also a non-issue mostly. Nice cameras with a solid feel and long battery life. Recommend for sure.

love this model of Nikon camera so much I own 3 of them

love this model of Nikon camera so much I own 3 of them all with MB-D11s the camera sensor I heard is made by Sony & it rivals the Nikon D7100 & D600 see ken rockwells review and sample photos even though its only 16mp it will produce professional results with large prints very easily this camera is simply amazing I have 2 user profiles setup, 1 for B&W the other for HI ISO night time photos its a pro-sumer camera for far less, dual card slots, amazing shutter speed of 1/8000 get one and discover what I am saying for yoruself

I prefer this camera so much I have 2 of them the sensor is a marvel, it rivals the D7100 & D600, see ken Rockwells review in order to make a 4ft x 6ft print this is all you need combined with a very sharp nikkor lens for professional results

Excellent camera!

So far I am doing wildlife and landscape shots. I am very impressed with the D7000. The 18-105mm DX lens works great for landscapes.

Focusing issue

Bought the D7000 a year ago w/the 18-200 mm lens and have had plenty of photo opportunities: dance recitals, travel, lacrosse events, birthday parties, etc. The issue I'm having recently is that the pictures are out of focus; although camera indicates otherwise. I've used Nikon cameras for over 15 years and quite frankly my Nikon D70 (Nikon's earlier digital) produced better pics. At least I didn't have the focusing issue. I will contact Nikon directly about this issue because I think that this Nikon project was a little "too much whiz, and not enough bang" and am disappointed with this Nikon project.

Heavy Camera, No Memory Card Incld.

Be sure to buy a memory card when you buy this camera or you won't be able to use it. It's not included. This is a heavy camera. May not be suitable for some. I can't further review as I have not used it.

What a Bargain!

This camera is as good as it gets in DX format. I do mostly product photography with no massively high pixel count for printing requirements and the D7000 provides every control I need including commander system for supplementary lighting. Great camera.

A Great Step Up

I will be traveling to Europe for the first time and wanted to upgrade the image quality of my photo opportunities. I have a Nikon D50 but it is only 6.1 MP. I liked the D7000 because it increased the quality to 16 MP and still works well with my D50 lenses. So far I have been very happy with the performance on the basic settings. I still have to learn the nuances of some of the features. Got a great price with the 18-105 mm lens.

AMAZING CAMERA!

This camera is AMAZING! I am a student photographer and updated my D40 to this one and have absolutely NO regrets! I wanted a camera that I could take complete control of (Manual all the way) and this camera offers amazing control. And also has an awesome Auto setting as well. I take a lot of nature photographs, group pictures, portraits, and family pictures. All of them have come out crisp and well exposed! Be prepared to refer to the manual! There are so many 'hidden' awesome settings that you'll come upon! :)

Great camera

The Nikon D7000 is a great camera. THis is my first DSLR, and it has been easy to pick it up and take great pictures. I love to go hiking and take outdoor landscape pictures. This camera does that very well. The included lens is a great general purpose lens, and it is the one I use most often. I do have some trouble taking low light photos in the house, but I am not using a tripod and am not using lighting techniques to brighten the room. Overall, this is a great camera

D7000 is exceptional

I took two months researching which camera and lens should I buy. My last camera was a Contax with a 50mm f/1.4 Plannar lens. This was 30 years ago. We are now in the digital age and I decided to build a new photographic equipment, and therefore my research of over 2 months. I opted for D7000 with a 18-200mm and in my kit came also a 50mm f/1.8D and a Vello BG-N4 Battery Grip, plus a Nikon Carrying case. I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. I bought separately a 35mm f/1.8 and a SB-400 flash. The camera is exceptional, with technological resources in abundance. If you do not want to use them, just go for the Auto Mode, and the camera will do everything for you. I'm grasping new things day by day, by reading the User's Manual and in addition to materials on the Internet and Youtube. I am sure that soon I will be able to use all the features that the camera offers, which are not few. For lenses, all are very good. If you have $ 2000 to spend, go ahead, because this set is really good. As for flash, forget the SB-700 or SB-900, unless you are a professional. SB-400 is more than enough for normal use, and costs only $ 100.

Very satisfied

I recently bought it for my weekend trip to las vegas and disney. I was very satisfied with performance of camera under low light. I used 50 mm f 1.8 prime lens which was just perfect with this for portraits.

D7000 the #1 crop dslr

I use the D7000 to take pictures of portraits and landscapes. The pictures come out fantastic. The D7000 still outreigns the new canon cameras for beginners like the t4i. If you have money you should invest in better glass and just buy the d7000 body. The sharpness and clarity is that or similar to the pro Nikon slrs. Don't confuse this crop camera to a full sensor camera. Crop cameras are usually used for potraits and street photography. This camera has great color depth, 39 focus points, 2 sd card slots. When it comes to noise at high isos its better then most of the other crop sensors out there. When shooting in video mode the focus doesn't tend to follow that greatly like a canon, but with a dslr your pretty much taking photos, then filming. If your just learning or wanting to upgrade to the D700), I highly recommend it.

Fantastic camera!

What a superb camera to have as a first DSLR! Found all the controls a little overwhelming at the beginning - but once I starting learning the controls, I began to get more and more comfortable. It will still probably take me many months if not years to learn everything the camera has to offer (especially for an amateur like me). But for now, I love my D7000!

Best camera I have ever had!

I am a beginner in photography. I owned a d5100 and liked how the quality was. Upgraded to this camera and it is just superb. Great pictures in low light and its just a great camera. The only con I see with it is I wish it had the swivel LCD.

Creative Camera

I wanted a digital camera to replace my 35 mm Chinon camera that I used to take some great photos with. There is going to be a fairly steep learning curve for me but I look forward to learning about the advanced features of this camera. I have used this camera only for a few days. The photos I took were very good considering the hazy conditions.

Trust me...learn it and love it. ;)

I shoot rodeo/bands/events in horrible light, I'm totally fearless with this very body thru ISO5000 :O Takes a bit of effort to master the new 39 pt AF but my time was well served as my in focus shots exceed 98%. Easy ISO is a godsend and the addition of the OEM grip lets one handle pro lenses with ease when shooting in portrait mode. I've shot in excess of 200,000 images since Nov. 2010 on a total of 1/2 a dozen D7K's. Trust me...learn it and love it. ;)

Great option.Complete and versatile.

The kit providea an excellent option for most uses. Lens has limitations in low light, but could not expect or ask for more for the price.

The all purpose camera

I'm not an expert but I love taking pictures. I am learning as I go but having the D7000 bundle is a big advantage. The 18-105 lense meets most of my needs because I can capture close ups and short distances.
