Came in perfect condition and had everything listed within its box. I can finally start my photography journey with this as my very first camera.

If I were rating the camera alone, I'd give it 4-5 stars. Some of my best shots were taken with the D7100. I now own a D500 and the full-frame D750. I realized that I wanted a quality camera for times when I was going to be in brutal weather conditions; where I wasn't going to shoot movies, or need other high-tech features. The D7100 will hold its own, and although its successors have many more bells and whistles, the D7100 won't disappoint. My rating of 3 stars is generous - but applies to Adorama's rating of "Excellent" to this used camera. The camera arrived with a fingernail-sized hot spot/stain/water mark in the middle of the LCD screen! I'm returning it immediately.

I like using this camera for the most part, my boss purchased it for me to take marketing photos of job sites etc. and it did the job just fine. However, I have now been tasked with taking pics for insurance purposes, and they require the photos to have a time/date stamp ON THE PHOTO itself, not just the properties of the photo's file. You can print the stamp if you use the PictBridge option with a PictBridge printer only. We don't need to print the pics, and we will not be purchasing a printer. So this camera is now useless for our current insurance needs. I talked with Nikon customer service but she explained how this level of camera does not have this functionality available and I would need to buy a different camera or the special printer. I asked to put this request in the suggestion box (if they have one) since I see I am not the only one who is missing this function by all the forums I saw during my initial Google search. I really hope Nikon will come up with a firmware update to include this functionality soon.. In the mean time I will be using my CELL PHONE which DOES have this functionality available. Not so happy of a boss either.

Purchased a refurbished nikon 7100 from nikon. It never powered up. I assumed like all other companies they would return it or exchange if for another but no. They make me send it out for service.

This camera is a major upgrade from my Cannon Rebel T1i. I love the grip, still getting used to the weight, the menus are very easy to use. I am not a fan of Nikon lens threads being reversed from Cannon. I am still learning how to use it, so I will have to update this review when I have a beer grasp.

I upgraded from a D7000 and am so far very pleased with this camera. Quick focus and nice hand grip is a little bigger than my other camera body.

Nice camera with lot of options. It may be a steep learning curve for the beginners, but once done it will be rewarding.

Gosto da máquina , manual grande. Muita informação para quem está iniciando. Mas não é tão difícil, apesar de ainda não saber tudo, fotos muito boas.

I take a lot of wildlife photos and I am looking forward to being able to enlarge prints. I have a lot to learn about the camera but that is part of the fun, learning all the different ways to make your shots better.

Love the camera/package. Still have my D7000. So wanted similar layout of camera. This fits the bill. Great in lowlight. Wonderful all around. Great great value.

This camera has everything. Even better than more expensive and newer model Nikons. Very happy with this.

User manual could have been included with simple steps 1. Setting aperture 2. Focus 3. Fitting lens 4. Taking single person pic 5. Taking group pic 6. Taking landscape photos 7. Taking photos in low light Settings top 3-5 for each of above scenario that would have made usage experience more enhanced And wifi router could have been in built and eat less battery and also allow making some settings related to focus , aperture so on

My D5000 continues to serve me well but it's now 7 years old and this was a great buy on the 7100 body (I have plenty of lenses). Even though the 7100 is no longer the flagship of the DX line it represented so much of an improvement over the 5000: in resolution, focus (in camera and not only in lens), better video, more features that the price was a no brainer. The learning curve is fairly steep but having learned the 5000 it is not difficult to learn the basics of the 7100 in a weekend. There's plenty more to learn, but I am enjoying learning it.

I searched around online and found this was the best price for this camera, and it included other add ons like a card and a blue tooth mobile adapter and battery. Plus no tax and free shipping. Literally the best deal online. When you purchase, you also get a camera concierge to ask questions about your camera....which is really cool. It's a bit heavier than my old Nikon d2100 but has way more bells and whistles compared to it. Excited to give video a try since the old camera didn't record video.

Ordered a Nikon camera. It also came with some free stuff--a spare battery, a 16GB memory card, and a mobile wireless adapter. Shipping was also free. It was supposed to be shipped 3 day,but took 6 days not including day order was placed or 2 weekend days.

I was very impressed with the first few pics I took. They are sharp, good color balance. The focusing system, which is a series of squares took me some getting used to. I still have a lot to learn, but so far, I'm very impressed.

I recently stepped up to this body from a Canon Rebel 5, and have loved it. Beyond the Canon/Nikon differences, there are so many more controls to learn that it can feel a bit overwhelming at first. However, I wouldn't go back. I shot with my Canon today, and wished I had picked up the D7100 instead.

Many years ago, when 35mm film was king, I was a very serious photo hobbyist. Since then, life happened and I let that hobby go in favor of others. Lately, though, I have wanted to get behind a camera again. After literally months of research, I decided on the Nikon D7100 as my entry into the world of DSLR's. Having purchased it and after using it for a month, I am happy to say that I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The D7100 feels good in my hands. The ergonomics are perfect for me and my (admittedly) long fingers. Every button and dial is within easy reach and exactly where I expect it to be. The D7100 echoes the layout of my old Nikon F4s in many ways, without the size or the weight. The menu system for setting up the camera is not particularly intuitive and the manual does not go to great lengths to explain many things, but that gap is easily filled by the dozens and dozens of YouTube videos full of patient explanation. One of the major reasons I purchased the D7100 as my "entry level" DSLR is that it has a built-in autofocusing motor. Which allows me to use a huge number of Nikon lenses that were manufactured over the last several decades. Since I am not a "pixel peeper" and have no intention of printing out a huge image, the Nikon AF-D lenses of the 80's and 90's are a great value and in some cases are built like a tank. The Nikon 24-120mm AF-NIKKOR f/3.5-5.6D is a prime example of that. The lens is all metal and weighs a ton. Which I prefer to the dinky, plastic feel of the current G series lenses. Your mileage may vary however with respect to your needs and desire to lug around heavy lenses. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the NIkon D7100 and I would recommend it. Especially if you have no need for WiFI integration. You can save a couple of hundred bucks by buying the D7100 over the D7200 and maybe spend the money you saved on lenses. I included an image of my cat, which is a testament to the quickness of the D7100. I just happened to be walking by with the camera when I saw my cat sitting pretty on top of his perch. The lighting was not terrific and my cat was mid-bath, but I managed to get five frames before he had had enough and jumped down.

I've been using this camera since 2013 and had to buy another one due to recent theft. This is a great camera! PROS: It takes very sharp images! The controls are pretty simple to use. You can set menu shortcuts for buttons on camera. You can shoot 1080p videos. There is a built in interval meter for time lapses. There are only a few things I dislike about it. CONS: One being when your in live view movie recording mode you can't change the aperture on screen due to a known firmware issue. It does not have built in wifi or GPS. The ISO at night above 1200 images get tend to have lot of noise. The buffer is very small at 6 shots. I would recommend this camera as a starter camera and for someone on a budget but wants a few more extra built in features the entry level cameras don't have.

Great camera that carries a lot punch!!!

I just returned from Costa Rica where I had the opportunity to really try my D7100 under different types of environment. Well, I took over 3k pics where in many instances I had to push the ISO to 3200 due to poor light conditions. This camera performed flawless coupled with the 18-300mm lens. Used the camera mainly in A and S modes which are my favorites. There were instances where I pushed the EV to +2 without any problems. Used just about every focus mode combination the camera offers. I wa...

definitely a step up from 7000, makes buying a 610 a difficult choice
By ajahearn
I started with a D80 7 years ago. Previously I had ProSumer versions of Canons and earlier than that I shot film with Minolta's. After 4 years with the D80 I went with a D7000 which was a great improvement but not quite the jump I was hoping for. Noise and sharpness were my two issues. I spent a lot of money buying good glass, mostly FX lenses (28-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8) which should shine on a DX format camera. I was all ready to jump to the 610 (bypassing the problematic 600) but I found tha...

Unleash the power of Nikon's DX-format HDSLR system.
Meet the new flagship of Nikon's outstanding DX-format HDSLR line-up: the D7100. Incorporating recent advancements in HDSLR technology, the D7100 brings a thrilling new level of image quality, speed, connectivity and creative capabilities—a specially designed 24.1-megapixel DX-format image sensor, superior low-light performance, ultra-precise autofocus and metering, advanced video recording features, built-in HDR, mobile connectivity and much, much more. Pair it with any of Nikon's superb NIKKOR DX- and FX-format lenses, versatile Speedlights and accessories, and the D7100 will be the centerpiece of your creativity for years to come.

The D7100 marks an exciting advancement in image quality for high-resolution DX-format cameras. Nikon specially designed its 24.1-megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor without using an optical low pass filter (OLPF), resulting in the purest, sharpest images using D7100's DX-format CMOS sensor. Combine that with fantastic ISO performance at both ends of the spectrum—down to ISO 100 and up to ISO 6400—the processing speed and intelligence of EXPEED 3 and the extra lens reach of a 1.3x crop factor, and the D7100 is the ultimate tool for those seeking a lightweight DX-format HD-SLR.
The D7100 makes it easy to share your great photos immediately, wherever you are. Connect the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter and instantly transfer shots to a compatible smartphone or tablet±, then upload them to the web, send by email or text—share them however you like. With Nikon's free Wireless Mobile Utility installed on your smartphone or tablet (available for both Android and iOS), you can also remotely control the D7100. Use your phone or tablet as a Live View monitor to take shots without having the camera in your hands, a huge advantage for everything from self portraits to digiscoping with a Nikon fieldscope.
When the action speeds up, fire a blazing fast 6 frames per second continuously for up to 100 shots. Building on the acclaimed autofocus system from the D300s, the D7100 uses 51 focus points, including 15 cross-type sensors for detecting both vertical and horizontal contrast variations, to achieve fast, precise focus. The central cross-type sensor works all the way down to f/8, a huge advantage when using compatible teleconverters. At the same time, a highly accurate 2016-pixel RGB sensor evaluates every scene, taking into account brightness, contrast, subject distance and color, for spot-on auto operations.

The D7100 will inspire your creativity to new heights. Built-in HDR (High Dynamic Range) combines shots taken simultaneously at different exposures into one beautifully rich, high-contrast image. Picture Control gives you instant access to the color characteristics of your images, and spot White Balance control for Live View shooting makes setting the white balance as easy as pointing to the area in the frame that should be white. You can even apply artistic Image Effects to both stills and videos in real-time.
The D7100 has the comfortable handling and durability of a high-end Nikon camera. A durable magnesium alloy body with moisture and dust resistance protects the camera's internal parts from the elements. A new 3.2-inch ultra-high-resolution 1,229K-dot LCD monitor provides crisp image playback, menu adjustments and Live View shooting, and a new viewfinder with a low-power consumption electro-luminescent (EL) data display provides approx. 100% frame coverage.

With full-time autofocus and manual exposure control during video recording, a built-in stereo mic and an external stereo mic jack, headphone and HDMI jacks, the D7100 achieves exceptional cinematic reproduction and quality. Record in several high-definition formats: 1080@50/60i, 1080@24/25/30p or 720@30/60p. Dual SD card slots give you additional recording time, and an all new 60i function enables smooth playback on HDTVs or external monitors. And, of course, every shot looks great through a NIKKOR lens. Create beautiful background blur with the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G, or use the AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm for an ultra-wide-angle view that's perfect for establishing shots and working in tight interiors.
