DOUG N : Is this a US MODEL?DAVID F : Yes, it is a US Model Nikon and registered for the full 5 year warranty.CATHY W : Yes, the one I received from Adorama was a US model.JOHN A : Yes it's a US model with a US warranty. Usually, Adorama, will post grey market items as such. The spare battery is an aftermarket battery, but it seems to work very well and the 32GB card is a nice addition to the package. However, the camera case they include is pretty small - I use my for accessories.CAROLYN W : Yes. On the warranty card that lists the model number and serial number it says USA.Melvin H : Yes, this is a US model - fully warrantied by Nikon. Buy it - you'll love it! If I had the chance to do it again, I'd opt for the bundle with the remote rather than the camera bag, but that's a minor thing.Ron M : Yes. I bought the Nikon D810 from Adorama a couple of months ago and it is definitely a US model. Adorama does sell grey market product but it's always clearly marked.

Great camera, great deal.

Great camera. I am an amateur, and always wanted to have a full frame camera. Got it used and even obsolete (by its release date), I believe I won't need anything better than this camera many many years to come.

Better than expected! A+

I recently placed my first Adoroma order for a "heavy used" Nikon D810. It took 3 days to arrive to Tennessee from NY via UPS. The camera was well packaged and arrived intact. When I finally unwrapped, I was very surprised! The camera was in pristine condition. There was only some ever so slight brassing around bottom of base, but zero dents or scratches. The rear LCD, and top LCD screens were bright, clear and scratch free. The function buttons and switches were in very good condition. And best of all the shutter count was below the manufacture's life limit. The camera shoots and works great. Needless to say, I am very pleased with this purchase. It's hard to believe Adoroma can offer such a great pro-level camera at this price point. And the Nikon D810 definately delivers pro quailty, better built-in technology, and beautiful pictures. I highly recommend purchasing from Adoroma, and will be shopping with them in the near future. Great job Adoroma. You just got a happy new customer. A+

My 'dream camera'? Pretty darn close!

For me and the photos I enjoy making, this is as close to my dream camera as I am likely to get any time soon. I used a Pro camera as a semi-pro shooter during the film era - Nikon F5. Then, my dream maker. But since I can't afford the Z9 my best choice in memory-making is the D810. It is the best Nikon that still affords the benefit of the onboard flash! For landscape photos, its 36.3 megapixels render incredible photographs! For close-up shots, the fill flash is ideal and I have no need of an extra speedlight. Moving up from a wonderful and still well-used D610, the D810 is easy to master and intuitive to use fully. Easily, my favorite Nikon of all!

Best camera you can buy at this price range

D810 is arguably the best buy you can find in today's market at around $700 range. It provides the best image quality and handling, great build quality and tons of nikon dslr lenses. Highly recommended if you are a beginner trying to get into photography.

Excellent product.

Purchased the Nikon D810 camera. This camera is not for folks that need all the future?s that this camera offers. This camera is pure professional equipment. And first class in my opinion.

Excellent Camera for any occasion

I have the D810 for 4 years and just loved the amount of pixels it has, I used it at a wedding & got the most amazing no flash allowed photos of the bride & groom than I ever thought possible. I also got great results shooting landscapes, my grandchildren and all their various sporting events & recitals (which required no flash) plus birds also with very good results. I loved this camera so much for its portraits that my daughter law is now using it to take great quality photos of her 3 beautiful daughters which I relish each great shot taken!! I used it for a while as back up to my D850, but after being the go to camera for 3 years & seeing the quality of the iPhone pics I decided that she needed a better camera & since my son & family live 650 miles away, this was the way to go besides my son is an IT guy and he'll soon love the D810 too!!

Years of Superlative Service!

My D810 is due for a review ~ prompted by my lazy-late decision to finally register it at ‘MyNikon’ website. I’ve had it since November 2014, and have had a great time with it! ~ PS tells me I’m over 30,000 shots {<aux:ImageNumber>31400<} with the only observable symptom is me pulling up the edge of the grip covering because of rough handling. I’ve dropped it on concrete, gotten it soaked by rain in my kayak shooting birds, and carrying it around in a tumble of lenses and junk in my camera bag... This D810 delivers fantastic results behind the latest of Nikon chipped lenses, you know that already, but I’m here to tell you it is just as happy with a 50+ year old Nikkor 500mm Reflex, a Bellows II extension with the slide adapter, and even {yipes} a C8 2000mm Schmitt-Cassegrain. I have no mercy! I have never been disappointed in this fine instrument.

Incredible camera! My move to FX

After six years of shooting with the D5200 which was a wonderful six years, now jumping to the D810, what an incredible upgrade. I know there are other excellent cameras out there by Nikon but this is such a huge move for me. Thoroughly enjoying this awesome equipment. So much to learn so many things to discover so spending time studying reading playing experimenting. It’s going to take a few months to get comfortable with it but could not of made it better move at this time in my pro-amateur career.

My first full frame DSLR!

I have used Nikon cameras for over 50-years, having owned EM, FM series, F3, F4, D5300, D7100, D500, and lastly, the D810 - my first full frame DSLR. It’s great to be able to fill the viewing frame with an image and know that’s how the final image will come out. At 36.3mp, I’m able to crop tightly and loose little, if any, picture quality. All controls are easily accessible and the camera well balanced, more so with the addition of the MD-12 battery pack. The more I use it - the more I want to!

My new Nikon D810

I just upgraded from a D5300, which was a great entry level camera. However, now I have my dream camera - Nikon D810. There is a lot more to learn but completely worthy it. This camera is awesome and now I must step my game up.

Finally, I am OVERJOYED!!!

I am a steadfast Nikon user. My first DSLR was a D5000, then a D5300 and I settled into the D5500 for quite some time. I had always wanted to go "Full-frame", but could never afford what I wanted. Just recently, my D5500 started having issues with the sensor - it came down to buying a new camera, elated to find that the prices for the "older" model D750 and D810 were well within my current reach. I'm still learning all this camera's many features, but the first ~50 pics I took with just my comparative limited experience from my D5500 were amazing!

Smart choice!

Purchased the D810 as a backup for my D750. Now it seems the 750 is destined to be the backup. The 810 is easy to use and operate! Perfect for landscape and gets me in the wilderness every weekend. Allows me to spend less time setting up the camera, and more time shooting in the woods. B and H gave me the opportunity to purchase a camera I thought I couldn't afford!

Amazing Camera

I purchased the D810 a few years ago. Quite simply, this is one of Nikon's great all time cameras. Digital or film. Image quality is outstanding and of course, being an 800 series, handling is fantastic. Of course, the D850 has superseded it and has advances in offering more resolution, the back-lit sensor, 4K video but the D810 has a feature I really like and use a lot and that's the built-in flash. I use it quite frequently. I would miss having it although you could get one of Nikon's smaller units. Considering that new ones are still available at $1,000 off just for the body I would strongly recommend you consider a D810 if you're in the market for a full frame DSLR. You won't be disappointed.

amazing camera

Put my D300s on the shelf when this arrived. I am still working on the finer points but it dazzled me when I first shot a few images. Much faster, it seems, than my D300s and the menu has some interesting components(Like the folder option). I am still wandering through the manual I purchased by Darrell Young but this camera is similar in function to my D300s so I am picking up quite fast and love the outcome.

Incredible Capabilities of the D810

While it reminds me in many ways of my old Pentax 6 x 7 (I also shot Nikon F1 and N2000 as well as many other brands and formats) but out-performs it by a mile, and the 502-page fine-print manual seems daunting at first, I picked up the basics very quickly. I have already begun shooting event photography (something I hadn't planned on) as well as requested scenic photos after less than a month. I will soon be using it for professional real estate photography and even have a memorial shoot coming up. "Nikki" still surprises me on occasion when I turn her on, but I've mastered everything I need and want in the first two or three weeks of owning her. Even in JPEG Fine, the quality is outstanding. The included software was easy to use and will do all I need to create professional RAW photographs that will beat most of the competition.

My second D810

I now have 2 D810's because I can't imagine a better back-up camera. Great resolution, managable-size files, relatively low noise at high ISO, and easy to work with.

Powerful features for pros and serious amateurs

For a longtime film (Nikon F3) fan, this was a big jump, and the feature set is at first a bit overwhelming. But the image quality in bright and low light with various apertures is unparalleled, and all my old manual-focus lenses meter perfectly. Vibration reduction on the AF zoom allows hand shooting at slow shutter speeds, and Lightroom does the rest. Despite its complexity this camera is durable, surviving bitter cold and very wet shoots as though it were a sunny day.

Astonished at the low light resolution

I was debating on whether to spend the extra $$ on the D850. I am totally satisfied with the 36mp of the D810. I shoot mostly stills.

Shhhh....( click )

Love the quiet shutter. Didn’t realize how loud my D300 is. I have a jittery Red-bellied woodpecker that visits my bird blind. He hangs around and let’s me shoot multiple shots of him now. The body of this camera just feels good. Even though I always try to keep rain and snow off my camera gear, I feel that the D810 could withstand both. Looking forward to growing into this camera. If you get one, just shoot the heck out of it.

Best value

Coming from d7200 the d810 allows me to do all those things that I couldn't with a DX body like creamy backgrounds, wider wide angle and much better low light performance. D7200 is a great camera but I limited ISAO to 2400 to keep noise acceptable. D810 is good to 6400. The low ISO of 64 is also great to help lengthening exposure for cloud and water exposures. Great all round buy.

D810

First, I have had it for 3 years. It is sharp, but the images are grainy. I limit the maximum ISO to 6400. I have had no problem cleaning the images with NIK and Topaz filters. The final images are great. Since it can use D lenses I am keeping it, but I just bought the Z7. It is still being tested. I use photoshop CS6, so I have to import those images in a round-about way. The D810 is no problem. I also like the pop-up flash (not present on the Z7). It allowed me to control other flash units. I have Nikons-the entire F series (minus the F6), and many of the DX series. The D810 was the best of the SLRs (I never got the 850 since the Z7 came out by then--sorry D850, you are left in the dust). The D810 is now available with large discounts and that makes it a great bargain). ?: Why change NEF files to the point that new converters are needed? Ok, the sensor etc. However, there are software converters out there so a good option would have been an alternive option to save as a compatible file. (Frankly JPEG???? even TIFF???--bad choices, Nikon). Also, Adobe RGB should be changed to a larger gamut color space. Nikon only offers sRGB and Adobe RGB--again, Nikon, you are a professional, do it correctly. Inspite all of this, I love it and recommend it. Hey, this is a review, not advertisement.

Amazing

This is my first full frame camera. I have a D7200 and have always been impressed with the photos and ease of use. After getting my D810 I immediately noticed the quietness and overall feeling of quality. The D7200 is built well, but the D810 is truly built like a truck. As a non-professional, I am sure this camera will last as long as I want to keep it. The pictures are amazing and the dynamic range of the sensor truly impressed me. It captured data in low light that even I could not see.

D-810

I remember being a young art student at SAIC and Kansas City Art Institute. I was a dedicated Canon (F-1) user and snob. Though equally interested Nikon. After 4 decades of inactivity in photography I bought my first Nikon DSLR. It didn't take long for me to buy a D-810. And am I glad I did. This is a very fine piece of equipment, as are the cornucopia of lenses at your disposal. I can't wait to by a D-850.

The Camera to Top all Cameras

I just upgraded to this camera and i am in utter awe. Its a phenomenal piece and it does more than you can imagine. Easy to use, comfortable controls and beautiful photographs. I would absolutely recommend this for any photographers who want to go that extra mile, those who live with a camera in their hands -- this would be the one to live with. I haven't put it down in the three weeks i've had it. Its a new limb.

Most Challenging Camera

By Lightwriter

I've only had this camera less than a week but I've discovered an undocumented characteristic not mentioned in the reviews or literature. This is the first camera I've owned that has a personality, one that talks back to me and lets me know in no uncertain terms whether I'm doing things right or not. Most reviewers mention its fabulous resolution and the fact that it (along with its older siblings, the D800/D800E) is able to reveal shortcomings in your lenses. I wasn't quite prepared for it t...

The King of DSLR

I'm surprised that this is not Nikon's most expensive camera, after all it is offering: - best dynamic range - best depth of color - best sharpness The Small Raw addition is wonderful, so are the time-lapse and interval shooting options. Combining the D810 with any of the recommended lenses on DXoMark will give you stunning images! What I strongly suggest everyone doing is going on Flickr and checking out the quality of the D810 with particular lenses. Carl Zeiss lenses tend to be unbeatabl...
