Having had my previous Nikon D90 stolen, I simply wanted that same body back. I had been offered the D3100, D5300, 7100 and so on, but I wanted that 90 back. Finding a refurbished one at Adorama was a real bonus for me. When I received, it on time, as was promised, it was in mint condition. I had it out of the box, clicked the lenses on one by one and was out shooting within the hour. As always, both the D90 and Adorama lived up to my expectations. In my opinion, both are top of the range for what I want, what I need, what I like. I understand that Nikon have obviously progressed with DSLR's over the last years, but the D90 is to me, such a superb, solid workhorse that I did not want to take another body. This time I'll get all my gear insured!! Thank you Nikon and Adorama

WORKS GREAT. IT TAKES VERY GOOD PICTURES AND HAS MORE FEATURES THAN MY D40. THE ABILITY TO CENTER ON A PART OF IMAGE TO CHECK FOCUS IS A GOOD FEATURE TO HAVE.

I traded up from the D60 and am still learning it; kept all my old lens since they are interchangable. Love having the viewfinder and lcd screen. Video is fun too.

Having previously owned and loved the D90, when I decided to get a DX back-up and knock-around body, I reverted back to an old reliable and one of Nikon's all time great cameras, the D90. I am afraid I have been spoiled by updated technology. Back in early 2008 when this camera was being developed, a lot of amazing stuff was packed into this camera, but in the last 5 years, many things have improved, like image quality and auto WB accuracy, just to name a couple. More recent bodies have moved beyond the once venerable D90's tool kit. If you are looking to upgrade from D40, 60, or 80, you will be thrilled with the D90. It is great, solid, easy to use camera, but for me, this old friend (sniff) is being returned.

I majored in photography when I got my BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2006, so I consider myself an artist rather than a pro or semi-pro photographer. My purpose in buying this digital camera was to keep up with the technology, as up until I got it I was using film cameras (two Nikons—an N80 and an N8008s I inherited from my father). At this point, I think I still prefer a film camera, as I can do what I want to do with film and the way I take the photo, but I'll get used to making up for the loss of this simplicity and flexibility, I suppose, with a combination of the D90 and Photoshop. Learning how to use the camera will be a task, as there are so many menus and options. I guess I'll figure it out. Or I'd better, anyway. In the long run it'll be less expensive and, as I don't have a darkroom, easier to get photos. The camera is great because it's a Nikon.

A really great step up from my D-60 especially the built in focus motor allowing me to use lenses that do not have the focus motor built in. So far great pictures.

I purchased this camera on the advice of a friend. The fact that the D90 is a refurb did not concern me in the least. Yes it is not the newest model. But it is still capable of producing some amazing memories. The camera arrived in perfect condition. As in this camera easily could have been brand new. I flipped through the manual while the battery charged and then away we went. No problems with any component of this D90. Functions like it was it's first day in use. Did I mention shipping was fast? As in 3 days fast. I use my D90 for every day photo taking. Paired with a nice lens like a 50mm f1.8D this camera is capable of producing mindblowing results. I enjoy pet photography and landscapes and compared to the "starter" series from Nikon, this camera's ease of use is just amazing. You have two dials for making quick adjustments to Iso and F stop or Shutter Speed. No searching through menus to get to the settings you need. On the fly changes are just a few clicks of the dial. Oh...and the viewfinder! It is fantastic to use. Nice and bright! Still amazes me compared to what I used to use. Also the camera has a built in focus motor. This is huge! One of my favorite lenses is the 50mm f1.8D. Now the D is important because the lens does NOT have an auto focus meter built in! So on a say D3100 or D5100 it will not auto focus. You can pick up the same lens without the built in focus motors for a lot less money than the comparable lens with the motor built in! Again that is huge.(for me) The D90 does not limit you to the newer more expensive lenses. The only negative I can come up with are the Auto modes are kinda....blah. While you can capture a great picture, most times it usually is only good for an ok shot. But then again...why purchase a dSLR for the Auto modes? While serviceable...they are not as satisfying to use as going Manual. (and as a hint...the exposure meter in the viewfinder will become your friend.) I would be more than happy to purchase the Refurbished D90 again. In a heartbeat.

Ordered this product and shortly after had an issue with an ERR message. Not realizing it was an easy fix I returned it and got the D80, as recommended by Adorama staff. The D80 is not as easy and had issues with shutter speed. So I returned and got another D90. Working great and love the ease of use for a casual photographer but looking for high quality pictures, outdoors and sports events.

At first, I wss hesitant to buy a refurbished camera, but after talking with other photographers, and taking Adorama's reputation into consideration, decided to the plunge. Satisfied! The D 90 is way more complicated than my previous camera, and I am not a techy guy. The manual is not very helpful, like the manuals of my 3 previous Nikons. So, I bought 2 other manuals, and between the 3,am getting it figured out. I guess it is because of the "New and Improved" syndrome, fueled by competition and the Marketing Department, but, there are many options, a lot of which I'd bet the Pros don't know how to use, ore even know they need for excellent photography. Durability? Who knows? I keep my cameras a long time, and am hoping for a lengthy relationship with this one.

I've been researching cameras and lenses for a while now and finally decided on this refurb D90. I'll add to the positive reviews on these, mine came with 404 shutter fires, and looks brand new. Only blemish I can see on it is a small scratch on the top LCD, otherwise seems perfect and CLEAN. I know the D90 is an excellent camera and I can't wait to get out and shoot with it--I had certainly outgrown my "advanced point-and-shoot" model and am looking forward to really learning photography on this. Only reason I give it 4 stars is because I haven't done much shooting yet, only in my apartment. So far extremely impressed.

The D90 is a great camera. I have about 11,000 clicks on mine now in the last year and a half and no issues. I also have a D7000, but for many uses the D90 shoots just as well. I've shot concerts with my D90 and my Nikon 80-200 f2.8 at ISO 1600 and got very acceptable results.

Some complain that this camera is heavy. They've never lugged around a Speed Graphic press camera!

I started my photo journey with a Nikon D3000. I really enjoyed photography and wanted to upgrade my body to something a little better without breaking the bank. The D90 is perfect. It makes it a lot easier for a non pro to use manual mode and I was able to take some really great shots at my brother -in-laws wedding. all in all I am very happy with this purchase and would have a clue that it was a refurb other than saving a few bucks.

As a pro wedding photographer I brough the d90 as a backup camera because of the price, since I didn't expect to use it much. Don't be fooled by it's small size, it can stand up to any of the big boys that cost thousand more. I found that I use it more than my Nikon d2x. You can't go wrong with this baby.

D90 is a strong mid-range tool even today. Can't compare high ISO performance with full framed options though. That aside, I really like it. I have a grip on it for my preferred balance. HIgh quality refurbished product will always be a first choice for me when available.

This camera does it all, and it doesn't cost $10,000.00 either. So you have to make the choice, are those other cameras worth another $9,000.00 to you? If not, buy this camera, and take very good photographs as well as movies. On the other hand, if you are a perfectionist, and can't stand the fact that there maybe a better camera on the market and you can't live with yourself till you've spent the most extreme amount of money possible. Then by all means, buy the ultimate. One of my other cameras is a D7000, so I'm a bit obsessive myself. Is there no end to this photography madness? I guess not, because I can't wait for Nikon to come out with a mirror-less 48MP camera. So I can actually see the lice crawling on the skin of the birds I photograph. And nothing can detect the sound of the shutters release because there isn't one. I'm like you, I want it all, and this is a very good place to start your addiction. Bottom line, this is a great camera for the price. Buy it and be happy. And I'd have to say, that Adorama is the best place to purchase your camera needs. You won't buy something and then see it for hundreds of dollars less somewhere else. I've bought a lot of camera equipment from them, and I've never been sorry about doing so.

I shoot mostly weddings and events with some environmental portraits thrown in for good measure. The 12.3 Megapixels allow me to enlarge my prints and retain great clarity and sharpness. The large display coupled with the info button allow me to easily see settings as I change them rather than try to read the little display on top. The exposure and colors are amazing. I wish I had purchased this camera earlier.

This model may be getting a little long in the tooth, but it still has just about everything you need to shoot in just about any situation. It lacks the high resolution of the newer models, but I can still crop to 40% of the picture and print a high quality 8x10. It also has a couple of important features the D5x00 and D3x00 models don't -- a pentaprism and an on-board AF motor. The pentaprism makes for a better brighter viewfinder in my opinion than the pentamirror standard on the new lower-end models. The best thing about it is the AF motor. Without it you are stuck using AF-S lenses (unless you want to go manual focus only.) That would rule out a large number of lenses including two of my favorites: the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D and the Tokina 100mm f/2.8 Macro AT-X Pro. Until Nikon knocks $500 off of the D7000, or introduces a D6000, I'll stick with my D90 until I can afford something significantly better.

If the box didnt say "Refurbished by Nikon", you would not have a clue! Why pay way more for a "New" camera when you can get this will all of the benefits, but at less cost?? Everyone knows already that the D90 is a very high end and capable camera, no need to rehash what countless others have said. If you want a great camera at a great price, this is it!

I honestly can only think of a few scenarios where the D7000 is a little bit better. In the hands of a skilled photographer, and coupled with good glass, most of these situations are moot. If you're ready to step up from your first entry-level DSLR, I cannot think of a better option. Bear in mind the image quality is basically the same on all of these cameras across the board aside from very low-light. The difference is that you don't have to go through a menu on your LCD screen to change your settings. The D90 is intuitive enough to where everything is a turn of the dial away, and most of it can be done while you're still looking through the viewfinder. It autofocuses with ANY autofocus lens, and while some people dismiss the small screen on the top, I've used it exclusively since my camera arrived; I haven't once used the LCD screen on the back to change shutter speed, aperture, white balance, image quality, or basically anything except auto ISO settings and things that are a little deeper in the menus and never get changed that often (AF illuminator on/off, Auto Dynamic Range settings).

I bought this camera several months ago and have used it a couple of times for photo shoots in a local town, as well as odds and ends here and there. The D90 definitely has more user-friendly options and several extra features that my first camera (Nikon D40) doesn't. The video feature on the D90 is fun to play around with, but it really isn't that useful since there is no autofocus. The D90 has held up fine so far, despite being accidently dropped from 3-4 feet onto solid pavement (my lens protector broke, but other than that both the camera and lens were fine). All-in-all a good camera that I would recommend any photo enthusiast or pro photographer should have in their collection.

[...].I went to the Winchester Va Apple Blossom Parade, this spring. Bands, cars , motorcycles, horses, and floats. Plus alot of moving targets.Unlike pictures in the past, they came out perfect. I never retouched a single photo, good accurate focus, color, and perfect lighting. All taken from a poor view point, under trees and light condition changing constanly. The real test will be taking Elk Pictures this fall in low light conditions. Impressive camera [...] All my future purchases will be done here.
