Worth the low price!
This is a great lens for the price. Let's be honest we all would prefer to buy the F2.8 version but at $1000 more than this one, it will have to wait. For the time being, this is a great lens for the price.

Incredible value, very good quality
The bag is may only photo travel bag, holding a D80 and four lenses, plus a compact tripod, the battery charger, etc. The lens is outstanding for casual uses, very light and fun to use.

A good buy for the money
I enjoy shooting birds in nature that I otherwise could not get close to. What surprised me was how it was so effective coming in for close shots as well. This lens will do fine as a starter zoom lens until I can afford the Nikon 18-200.

Decent for low end SLR hobyists.
Image isn't necessarily that sharp. There is no manual focus so I can't tell if it's the glass or the mechanics. It's a good experimental lens. I would strongly suggest the use of a tripod with this lens along with a timer-release or a mirror-up (where capable) setting to help reduce mirror flap shake. Sometimes the lens can surprise you, but for the price you shouldn't be too disappointed unless you were hoping for quality from one of the higher end (much more expensive) lenses.

Package is a Great Value
Package price was less than others want for the lens alone ... so in effect a great value lens, a free, very nice camera bag plus free extended warranty for my D70s. A Nikon guide to photography was also included in the package. tough to beat overall! I also bought the D70s with the 18-70 "kit" lens. In total a terrific, lightweight package that meets all of my needs

Good lens for distance shots
The lens has its limitations. It is great for 30 yards but no more and anything under 6 ft forget about it. If you are taking a picture of sports and you are on the sideline..this lens would be perfect. If you want to take them from the stands..hang it up !
