The adaptor fits in the compartment the battery normally fits inside. I bought this for a Nikon Coolpix S9100 which takes a Nikon "EN-EL12" battery. Will this one work on my camera?CHRISTOPHER V : Hello, The Nikon EH-62F is designed solely to allow you to power the camera without a battery. The EH-62F has a power cord which connects to an AC outlet and it turn connects to device which fits inside the battery compartment of the camera. This would allow you to use the camera while indoors, however would not answer the dilemma of charging your battery and allowing you to connect your Nikon camera to a PC via a USB port. You need to replace the Nikon esoteric cable in order to do these things. I hope I answered your question. Chris VANDREW R : Unfortunately no, this item is not compatible with your camera.

I use this with my Coolpix A900 for time-lapse and astrophotography. It will power the camera all night if needed. Set up the camera on a tripod, plug in the AC adapter, and you are good to go.
