I bought the battery for the new Nikon D850 battery attachment and it works fine. Found out the D850 gives you a choice as to which battery to use first (in the camera or from the attachment). Like others who have reviewed this battery and for other Nikon batteries, I prefer the Nikon brand after having had troubles with off brand, third party versions, in spite of Nikon's outrageous pricing for all their accessories. Pricing almost gave this 4 stars.

The performance of these EN15a batteries is truly miserable. Bought 3 new for a recent 17 day trip to Japan. They were lasting less than 380 shots on a D750 with no LCD, no on-camera flash, no file trans, no WiFi, no nothing. Picked up a pair of old EN15's from BIC Camera in Tokyo. The first was at 891, with charge left, and the second never used before flying back. Currently on a 4 year old Wasabi battery at 762. The good news is I now own $180 worth of shiny new paper weights.

Works great. Don’t buy aftermarket batteries! Be safe and buy OEM and have at least one spare, especially if you use on camera fill flash.

When buying additional batteries for back up, you want to go for quality over price. This battery is very good quality and holds a charge well. I would highly recommend it over a cheaper one, because in the long run it's going to be dependable when you need it.

After using a budget-priced battery as a back-up to my Nikon EN-EL15A battery, I found the inexpensive replacement had inferior performance. It started out fine, but its capacity grew noticeably shorter after only a short period of use. So, I ended up purchasing a second Nikon brand EN-EL15A. It has superior performance and, in my opinion, is worth the additional cost.

For me, and not sure why, but these batteries just do not old their charge. Shoot dual body d750 for weddings; had to replace both of these mid-wedding (brand new!). I've shot multiple weddings off of my original EN-EL15s with no issues. Brand new ones performed as well as year old EN-EL15s that undergo very heavy use.

One of these came with my D850 and I bought another for the grip I added. I shot about 600 pictures at Basque del Apache, one day, mostly on what I call machine gun, without completely completely draining the first battery. I still keep a few from my D800 charged, but I doubt if I ever need them. These new batteries are much better.

Other than the color, this battery looks and works just like the original EN-EL15 battery. Charges quickly and delivers reliable power. I get over 1,000 shots on my D7200.

I purchased this as a backup battery for both a D750 and D7200. It works well in both cases. I was given a non-Nikon battery for free as part of a package deal, which was worth about what I paid for it. Go with the Nikon brand.
