Hate that we simply cannot plug in the power directly into camera like we were able to before, but these "fake" batteries work great and do what they say they're going to do. We learned using Z6ii's that you cannot use aftermarket and it must be a Nikon product, with that said, these do work great and all my Z6ii bodies are still functioning properly.

If you need it you need it. I've been using mine since my D800. Also used in my D810, D850, and now my Z cameras! This is also compatible with many more Nikon cameras. Check their website. Works great. Nice of Nikon to make something compatible with multiple generations for a change!

It works 5*. Make sure you double check it's compatible with your camera, and Don't forget to buy the AC Adapter if you need it too (Nikon EH-5d)

Works as advertised on the Z6 and Z7 II. I had previously used a random adapter from Amazon for my Z6. It was working very well there, but it would not power on the Z7 II. The Z7 II reported that it will only work with genuine Nikon adapters or batteries.

See my review of the EH-5d - you need both if you're going to power your Z camera from AC for a lengthy shoot, such as interval shooting

Just tried this with my Z 6 and I get a battery not compatible message. It works with the D 600 but not with the new Z 6.

Bought this to power my new Z7, connected to the Case Relay system. Works perfectly.

I purchased a less expensive battery adapter and it was a total failure. This adapter, used with the Nikon EH-5C AC Adapter, exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend.

I have received the Power Supply Connector. It looks nice and in good shape. I am unable to use it as the Power Supply that I ordered with it is still on Back Order since May 2nd. I won't know if it works until I get the other part. I'm running out of patience Waiting. No good review until I get the other parts. then I'll let everyone know.

$ is WAY too much money for this simple piece of molded plastic and power cable. To separately power a D850 you have no choice but to use this -- along with the EH-5C AC-DC Power Supply. I only give it two stars because the entire "system" is annoying, "kludgey," and seems like an "Oops! We forgot to make the D850 be powered separately" afterthought design. (Just my personal opinion, for whatever it is worth. Your own opinion may vary.) Some other Nikon's (such as the older D700 and D300s) had a circular connector on the body in which to plug an AC-DC Power Supply, a much more convenient connection method.

When I first received this power supply connector I was surprised at how light it was. It feels as though it weighs half of a normal EN EL15 battery which is nice considering the power adapter weighs quite a bit. I plan on using this with my Nikon D810 and an Omnicharge Pro battery pack I pre-ordered off of Indiegogo to shoot Milky Way time lapses. It wouldn't be possible without this essential piece. I imagine this would also come in handy for anyone who shoots in a studio with access to a wall outlet provided you have the associated power adapter. It would also be great for shooting videos for long periods indoors. Overall I highly recommend this for anyone who doesn't want to have to constantly switch out batteries over long shooting periods if you have AC power available.

The absolutely huge paper manual, although very thorough, is difficult to carry around. I wish the manual was available to download or was online.

I use this with the AC adapter in Take Your Own Photo Booths at weddings and events. I use a remote radio trigger and lights and power the camera for five hours at a time. Used to use a D700 with the same arrangement.

Design is not he best, the AC adapter should plug directly into camera like the D300. This adapter goes in battery slot and hangs out bottom while in use, rubber grommet in bottom of D7000 allows wire to come out, but still not great design. A side plug would be more ideal. It works if you have the power brick.

Don't know why this product would not work with my D800. The EH-5 was not the problem and I tested it on my voltage meter.

Avoids running out of juice during long sessions

Works well; good for multiple long exposure night photos.
When powering your Nikon digital cameras for extended periods, the Nikon EP-5B Power Supply Connector is an indispensable accessory. Designed to facilitate the use of the EH-5A AC Adapter with the Nikon D7000 and P7700 digital cameras, as well as the EH-5B AC Adapter with the Nikon V1 mirrorless camera, this connector ensures your photography sessions can continue without interruption due to battery life constraints.
The EP-5B Power Supply Connector is engineered to fit seamlessly into the camera's battery chamber, providing a reliable power source for long-duration shoots, time-lapse photography, or when downloading images to a computer. While the design allows for the power cable to exit through a designated rubber grommet on compatible models like the D7000, some users may find the external placement less than ideal compared to a direct side plug-in option. However, it remains a functional solution for photographers who require a stable and continuous power supply.
Please note that while the EP-5B is compatible with a range of Nikon cameras, it is essential to check your camera's model for compatibility, as some users have reported issues with newer models such as the Z 6. Additionally, the comprehensive paper manual provides detailed instructions, though some users may prefer a digital version for convenience.
In summary, the Nikon EP-5B Power Supply Connector is a critical component for photographers who need to bypass battery limitations and is specifically tailored for use with select Nikon cameras. Its design ensures that you can keep shooting without the need to swap out batteries, making it a practical tool for studio work, video recording, and other power-intensive photographic activities.
