I used the FH-4 holder to convert over a thousand family unmounted color slides and negatives with a D810, the Nikon ES-2 adapter and the Nikkor 60mm macro lens. Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop were used to "flip" the negatives. The adapter worked well for the format for which it was designed. I also modified it for other formats.Lessons learned:1) Use nitrile or other similar lintless gloves to load the film into the adapters. Older films can curl with age. Using gloves eases the load process and eliminates concerns with skin touching the film. Use a lintless cloth & blower for cleaning film.2) I used a bright white LED light source. I fixed the shutter and aperture and adjusted the light source distance to get an appropriate auto-ISO result. This seemed to maximize sharpness and accommodate under / over exposed film3) All conversions required cropping to remove fringes.4) I used a Lightroom action script to automate the negative conversions.
