Bought item used. Came in really good used condition. Nothing broken, or severely worn. All buttons still have tactile clicks.

The Nikon MB-D10 I received was rated E-. It seems to function exactly as it was intended to. The surface around the area by the dial next to the MB-D10 shutter release is scuffed (missing paint), and the rubber cover on the backside (under the palm of your hand when holding it in the "portrait mode") is a bit loose. These things are wear points and do not interfere with functionality, so I accept them as is. For the price of the Nikon D300, the MB-D10 should have been included with the camera. It does everything I will ask of it, so I am satisfied it was a very good purchase.

With the MB-D10 Battery Grip, there is no problem with lack of power to complete your photo shoot, whether it be a wedding with lots of pics and flash , or shooting fast moving objects , or sporting events, not bad for bracketing either. I have 2 D-700's and a D300, and I wouldn't be without it. Very good quality and dependability also. I would highly recommend this accessory .

I have two of these, now. I keep one on my D300, and I bought the other to keep on my D700. Even though they're interchangeable (which is a nice feature), and use the same battery holders, I didn't want to have to change out other things or switch between the two bodies. See, I have a flash bracket that can be configured for use on a camera with a grip or without a grip. To switch between the two requires a small bit of disassembly and re-assembly, because of the different heights of the two setups. Also, I use hand straps on both bodies, and switching the grip between the two also meant removing and re-attaching two hand straps, or changing the length of the straps, at the least. This way, I can keep plugging away, switching as I need between the two bodies without worrying about changing out anything else. As for performance of the grip, it works great. I have the holders for the AA batteries, the EN-EL3e, and EN-EL-4 batteries, and the versatility is great. I shoot action sports, and the extra frame rate on the D300 and D700 helps me get that shot I was missing otherwise. Plus, the extra set of controls for use in the portrait orientation helps quite a bit. All in all, a great addition to the D300/D700, if you need it. It does add some bulk and weight, however, and not everyone would appreciate that. I don't mind it much, and I like how my hand fits on the grip, as well.

I order the used grip to save money. It arrived in like new condition in the original box with all of the documentation. I used the grip and with an additional battery to shoot a fund raising event over the weekend. All worked as promised.

I bought this used. It was in great condition. As others have written, it works well in the portrait position. It provides you with good leverage holding the camera; it does add weight but nothing outrageous.

I found this in the used merchandise and was surprised when I received the power grip and it was in better condition than I expected. Nice!

I take pictures at marathons and half marathons almost exclusively in portrait mode. This battery grip makes it much more easier and tolerable to take hours of pictures in this mode with its additional controls and capacity for an additional battery.

The MB-D10 makes taking vertical shots so much easier - easier to hold, hold still and also now possible to change the aperture from that position. As for using the batteries from the pack, I do find that I have to sometimes re-tighten the grip onto my camera - I'm not sure if this issue is because it was used or there's an issue with my D700. What can happen is that although the controls work on the grip, the camera doesn't register the battery source from the grip. When using the EN-EL4a battery, it's a simple loosen then tighten procedure that takes care of it, and I'm good to go for a good long time. But with AA batteries, it was annoying to where even when I tightened the grip, it would often act like they didn't exist. I went through two sets of 8 AA batteries thinking they were drained, but it wasn't that. So I bought some EN-EL4a batteries ( used ) and it works well.

I use this product when I have to work more than 3 consecutives hours. Now I can feel confident that I have on my hand a back up battery. The only little problem is that it add more weight to your camera.

I already have this product for my NIKON D300 camera and I needed one for my second camera, NIKON D300s. It's a very good item, useful and the camera is now able to shoot 6 pictures per second however, cons are that this all depends on the velocity of the CF/SD card.

Has extended my shooting time almost indefinitely. Coupled with fantastic service and delivery from Adorama, look forward to getting more things shipped to Australia. Certainly a smarter way to shop

I work mostly in the editorial field and need the added batteries for long days of shooting. The vertical component of this grip makes my shooting posture more comfortable so it is easier to endure the long hours required by location assignments. About the only complaint I have is the added weight but I would have been naive not to expect that.

This battery grip gives good balance with longer telephoto lenses..and assures that I have enough battery power for longer shoots or wheh bracketting easy and comfort to the hands...feels like an integral part of the camera Nothing bad to say ..optional battery grip door end allows for use with other Nikon batteries for longer shoot times

My favorite feature on this mb10 is the shutter button on the grip. It is very nice to quickly turn the camera and not have my arm in awkwardly. When I'm shooting all day this keeps my shooting consistent and comfortable.

I use Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 software to remotely control a D300s camera and the extended battery capacity the MB-D10 supplies the camera is essential to my application. I keep extra battery trays with freshly charged NiMh AA batteries loaded for quick swaps which is a great feature of the MB-D10...

If you have a D700 or D300, etc. this is one accessory that you must have. I love it.

I love that I don't have to change out batteries on the spot when one goes out. The camera automatically points to the batter in the external battery pack or in the camera itself. Very helpful. I also like the ability to take horizontal and vertical shots with ease. Vertical shots are now comfortable on my hand and wrist and the battery back gives you more room to grin your camera, which makes it easier for me to control my camera. The only downside is its a bit bulky, but if you can get by that, you'll love it.

I use this on a D700 and love it. The camera body (not sure about on the 300) allows you to determine the sequence in which to draw the power from your batteries. The grip is comfortable and it fits solidly to the camera. It has a storage area in the attachment area to stop the small rubber cover from the bottom of your camera. A great touch! If you shoot portrait orientation, this is excellent.

I use this battery grip all the time. It does make the camera a little more bulky but increases speed and battery life seems to be forever! I also like the advantage of vertical as well as horizontal shutter release.

The MB-D10 is very easy to attach to the camera (mine is on a D700), just make sure the camera is turned off when attaching it; the CF card light blinks as the MB-D10 is being attached, but this is normal. This battery pack accepts several types of batteries like a EN-EL3e or a EN-EL4a, or EN-EL4 rechargeable batteries; or 8 AA alkaline, Ni-MH, Lithium or nickel-manganese; some features on the MB-D10 are an extra shutter button for when you are holding the camera in portrait mode; this extra shutter button is of course on the top right corner, so the camera feels very familiar when shooting portraits; as well, the way the handle (MB-D10’s) is designed, it feels very secure in your hand -you can even hold it only with with your right hand, while using the index finger to push the shutter button; I mention you can use only the right hand because once the MB-D10 is attached to the camera, the camera becomes squared and big! Actually, the D700 camera (with the MB-D10) is a bit higher than the D3 camera, if both cameras are placed on a flat surface next to each other. On the MB-D10, there’s also an AF-ON button, a multi-selector button, as well as a main and sub-command dials for when shooting pics in tall/portrait mode. On the top of the MB-D10 (when not attached), there is a ‘holder’ for your camera’s contact plastic cover (so you don’t loose it). On the bottom of the battery pack there’s the “Tripod Socket”, which is standard and on the camera’s Menu Options you may select which battery to use first, the camera’s internal battery, or the MB-D10’s. The battery pack adds to the performance of your camera, such as the ability to shoot 8 frames per second! An overall, the MB-D10 is a ‘must-have’ accessory for your camera; it certainly beats just carrying extra batteries; it allows you to do more.

Makes camera heavy and bulky but this is inevitable, considering what it does.Big battery, big capacity. My only criticism is that the rear control dal and button cluster is not identical nor as smooth in operation as the one on the D700 or D300S. It has a different feel to it and takes a bit of getting used to, particularly as, in my case, I don't often use the camera in vertical mode.

Wonderful product and 2 gripes
By Semi-Pro&Canadian
I've been shooting mine for a couple of years now, with only 2 complaints. The first, if I leave the battery in the body, it won't use the grip's power, even after the firmware update. Pulled the battery out of the body, and no worries. The second: I have big hands. When shooting landscape, the knuckle at the base of my little finger sits squarely on the vertical shutter release, and, if I forget to disable it, can trigger it when I drop the camera to a rest position. That being said, the MB-...
