More helpful than imagined
Most of the photos I capture are shot vertically, so there was little doubt the battery pack would be helpful (more so for the shutter release, than the extra battery). The unexpected benefit was how much more stable holding the camera was, especially with a big zoom attached! Built solid, and with plenty of other add-ons, this was a deal that couldn't be passed on. Highly recommended for vertical enthusiasts.

MB-D14 Multi Battery Power Pack
The MB-D14 is a Multi-Power Battery Pack for the D600. The MB-D14 Multi-Power Battery Pack can be powered either by six AA batteries (Alkaline or Ni-MH or Lithium) or EN-EL 15 rechargeable Li-ion batteries. To use the MB-D14 with AA batteries, use the MS-D14 AA Battery Holder. When using EN-EL15 batteries to power the MB-D14, use the MS-D14EN Battery Holder. The MB-D14 is equipped with a shutter-release button, AAE/AF lock button, multi selector and main- and sub-command dials for improved operation when taking photographs with the camera vertically oriented.
EN-EL15 Lithium-Ion Battery
• These rechargeable batteries provide extended life and consistent power, even in colder conditions.
• The EN-EL15 is a rechargeable Li-ion battery that powers select Nikon D-SLR cameras, providing 7.0v and 1900 mAh power.
• Used together with your Nikon D-SLR, the camera's fuel gauge accurately displays the remaining charge and number of shots since the last charging.
• The EN-EL15 is a rechargeable Li-ion battery which powers the Nikon 1 V1 digital camera. It is supplied with the camera.
• The battery uses the MH-25 charger.
• The EN-EL4a even gives notice when calibration is necessary.
MC-DC2 Remote Release Cord
The MC-DC2 enables remote firing of select D-SLRs.
ML-L3 Wireless Remote Control
• Enables wireless remote shutter release. Trigger the shutter remotely when using slower shutter speeds to prevent camera movement.
• The range is approx. 16 ft in front of the camera.
• Useful for triggering the shutter remotely when using slower shutter speeds, to prevent camera movement.
• Infrared Remote Control enables wireless remote shutter release of select Nikon D-SLR, Nikon 1 and COOLPIX cameras.
• The ML-L3 offers an immediate release mode and two second delay mode.
