Questions & Answers

Loyd D : With this Nikon wireless remote trigger system, will it keep the shutter open when in BULB mode so you can take long exposures for fireworks?PAUL B : I do believe so. It will toggle open on the first press of the button then release closed on the next toggle of the button.BENNY J : Yes. There is no time limit. I use it for astrophotography, waterfalls, etc.ANDREW R : The item in this listing is JUST the WR-A10 10-pin adapter, you would still need the transmitter and receiver in order to use this item. I believe bulb mode is available, however, to the best of my knowledge, the button needs to be held down to keep the shutter open.william o : Yes
Michael S : Do I need this adapter for a d800?SAMI M : Yes.CRISTIAN C : Yes you do. I do not like this, it doesn’t work well when you hike, for instance (you need to screw it in and then take it off). It is more a studio solution. But that’s the only wireless option for D800.MICHAEL R : Yes you absolutely need this for the D800. It works great but make sure you remove from camera after use as it is not very sturdy, can break easily. I learned this the hard way.JAMES R : Yes, you do. Newer cameras have a slot for the wr-10, but older cameras with the 10-pin connector do not and need this adapter.
Shopper : wil it work with a D5200?SAMI M : You don't need this adapter on the D5200. You can connect the wireless receiver directly to your camera.JAMES S : Nope. Not needed. If you already have a WR-R10 with a WR-T10 wireless remote, that will work directly with your D5200. The WR-R10 plugs directly into the D5200 without an adaptor of any kind. The WR-A10 is used to adapt a WR-R10 to Nikon cameras equipped with a 10-pin connector, such as the D800.

It’s nesessary

It’s nesessary but I don’t like the 10 pin connection. It’s very finicky and fragile.

What the Heck?!

I was stoked to try out the wireless feature of the SB 5000 with a D850, but later found out I had to get this adapter for their remote trigger. Who at Nikon development thought this was a good idea, or in any way an advantage over a hot-shoe trigger? What a scam! Even after all this is was far from simple to set up. The instructions showed I would have to remove the lens each time I wanted to put this on or take it off. Fortunately this was wrong. It just pushes straight on and then tighten the ring. Now I still have this extra thing sticking off my camera body that could snag on something and break off. This was a terribly idea to say the least.

Too fragile for practical use

This lasted me 1 hour into a photoshoot before it broke. This is the second one I have been through - horrifically made. Would work for a studio setup only. Not made for anything even semi rugged. Cannot keep it attached if you have a cross body strap as any movement or burn will break it. Worthless.

Se puede conectar al disparador alambico MC-DC2?

Si conecto el adaptador WR-A10 a mi Nikon D810 y así mismo al disparador alambico MC-DC2, funciona?

Wonderful but Delicate

This adapter works just fine. While screwed into the 10-pin connector it can swivel away to allow easier access to the camera built-in flash compensation button. However, it's extremely delicate and you have to be very careful when you use it. I was pulling my camera from its bag, when this connector rubbed slightly against the bag edge, and it immediately broke into 7 small pieces!

Disappointing

I needed remote control capabilities for my new Nikon D800 camera. This requires the WR-T10 controller, WR-R10 transceiver, plus the WR-A10 adapter – a quite expensive solution. In addition the set-up is very fragile, practically works in a studio. It is not a good solution if you hike and try to take landscape pictures or to shoot a waterfall, as the adapter may easily break and possibly damage the camera connector too. Overall I'm disappointed and would not recommend this product. My old film Nikon had the transceiver incorporated into the camera. They should do the same for a high end $3000 camera like D800.

It works.

I set up two cameras on tripods to shoot moonsets. With two WR-A10s I do not have to move back and forth between them. I press the button on the WR-T10 and both cameras fire. Installs and syncs easily.

Works Great!!

Use this for landscape and portrait work. Kind of expensive in total for a remote control but it does work well.
