It works for me.

I read a lot of bad reviews before getting my first minimax. Just connect via firewire and you are ready to go. I now have three and none of the negatives I read about have occurred. A 500 GB is connected to my mac and another 500 and 1 TB connected together. They all perform different function. One backs up my system and the other two back up photographs. They pile up on one another and take little space. I had a Western Digital once that destroyed my hard drive which I ended up replacing. Get the Iomega.
