It is exactly as I expected. It gives me the versatility that I need in what I need to capture the scenery pictures I use it for.

Received the reconditioned 75-300 mm from Olympus and found there was a learning curve to get it to work right (coming from a Nikon system). I initially started shooting with it and got soft images. Finally figured out I was shooting at too low a shutter speed. Once I upped the shutter speed, images cleared up. Now it is giving me good images although I do keep it below 280mm. The zoom is a little sticky but seems to be loosening up.

This 75-300mm is paired with my EM5 MKIII. This combination is giving me close to professional results for wildlife photography...in other words a perfect enthusiast combination. I use this lens at 300mm wide open and the results are very good. A true test of any lens with this reach is to compare photos taken at 300mm focused at 100 yards and at 10 yards. The more distant shots may be affected by atmospheric distortion due to warm air and camera shake while the closer shots are less affected and therefore have better contrast and sharpness. Shooting early morning helps mitigate heat distortion at 300mm. Like almost all Olympus lenses - this is a take anywhere lens due to its size and weight. One star off due to lack of weather sealing.

Olympus lenses never disappoint! Crisp images and lens is lightweight.

Crisp pictures, even at max zoom. I previously had issues with focus on my previous Nikon set up. Which I'm sure was partly user error. But even with only one event under my belt with this new lens I've seen a major improvement in the quality of photos. I used this for car sports photography.

Nice lens for photographing birds from my back porch or to use while visiting a national park. Not overly heavy and easy to travel with.

I have fallen in love with Olympus and their products. This lens is one of the reasons. It's light, compact, sharp, and with a 150-600mm equivalent it's down right amazing. I paid $1,100 for a Canon mount 150-600mm and I needed a gym membership, and a chiropractor just to haul that thing around. Now I get similar results at a mere fraction of the cost and weight. Simply amazing. Definitely add this to your kit for sports and wildlife.

Worth every penny, though it isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Nice contrast, though. I'm delighted to have this. I waited many months for Olympus to catch up to orders for this lens.

Fantastic amateur lens for bird photography at a great price. Small and lightweight, good autofocus, fast enough for daytime birds in flight photos. You won?t regret buying this.

I was a bit worried it would have a budget feel, but this lens has a quality fit and finish. The focus is quick with my OMD M1-3. The images are very satisfying. It's a huge and affordable step up from my 40-150 lens without breaking the bank. I can still afford a mug of coffee when I go out to shoot.

This is a great lens for anyone looking for a small, lightweight telephoto zoom lens with good focal length range. The 150-600 equivalent field-of-view is great for everyday bird photography and nature hikes. It is light and easy-to-handle which makes hand-holding this lens a breeze. Overall, a surprisingly good telephoto lens, especially given its size, weight and price.

Nice lens easy to use. Works well. Only complaint it doesn't reach out quite as far as I thought it would based on other reviews and posted pictures.

I am impressed with this lens and it's capabilities under what I consider to be normal shooting conditions. I use the lens often in my yard and while out and about in local parks to shoot birds and wildlife using an OM-D E-M1. It's hard to beat the reach and capability in such a small package. I've only had the lens a short time, but I'm sure as I use the lens more I will continue to be happy with the results. My combination packs a lot of features and capability in a small package. That is a welcome relief from my larger DSLR's.

Lens is sharp, and in good light you can get good handheld shots due to the Olympus in camera body image stabilization and the size and weight of this lens. Keep in mind that this lens is equivalent to a 150 to 600 mm in a full frame body. Make sure your shutter speed is fast and have appropriate lighting for the shutter speed. Do not expect this to be a low light high performer it is 4.8-6.7.

Not very sharp and very slow making it necessary to use higher ISOs for sports.

This lens offers a budget price with great quality. As long as you realize it's not a low light lens and shoot within the light capabilities, you can't go wrong with this. Handheld and fully zoomed in, still obtains great captures with the Olympus stabilized bodies. I've used this on the EM5 and the EM1.

This lightweight telephoto zoom lens is very nice but you must put in the time to master long lens technique. Since the FOV is very narrow at the long end the slightest movement, like breathing, can soften the result. Using good technique like pressing EVF against face, rolling finger onto shutter, pressing shutter between breaths and even using electronic shutter, and lots of practice, can help. Lens is very sharp at the wide end and weakest beyond 220mm but good results can be had at the long end with proper technique.

Great color and clarity, and the focus ring is easy to use. It is large, heavy and slow compared to other lenses in my kit, but when used on tripod or in very bright light, results are quite good. One should not expect a truck to perform like a sports car, and this lens is like a very good truck.

I bought this lens to compliment the 14-150mm 4-5.6II ( which is a great all around lens ) for times when I need a little for reach as is the case for motorsports events. I used it recently in Austin at the MotoGP and it did a fantastic job of auto tracking and bringing in the long shots. It is great in full light even without a lens hood ( which I don't have ). The size is good not too big and just big enough to offer some support when focusing. I use it with my OM-D EM5 Mark II and the IBS works great. Overall I would recommend it.

This lens performed better than I expected mounted on a Panasonic G9. Autofocus was quick and accurate and in body stabilization was great. Easy to carry and lightweight. Highly recommended.

The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 75-300mm F4.8-6.7 II Lens is a lightweight lens that performs quite well in situations with enough light. It is easy to carry and to use on a mirrorless camera making it a pleasure to carry. At its price range it is a good value. However, it does not produce the quality images that are achieved with the larger more expensive lenses used on SLR cameras. I recommend this lens to users that are looking for a good quality highly portable lens but can be satisfied with the less than "tack sharp" images of top of the line zoom lenses.

A very good, somewhat specialty, lens. You just have to accept and work with its limitations. My shots have great detail, contrast, and color, even out at 270-300mm; but only, really, when shot in full daylight. Otherwise, in dim light, the lens struggles to find focus. I would not use it as a primary travel lens because of the 75 mm low end -- for my purposes, the 14-150mm (which I have and love) or new 12-200mm would be far better choices for travel. And, for street photography, one of the primes -- 12mm f/2 or 17mm f/1.8 are great.

I had read all the reviews and several had mentioned that this lens was soft but I decided to give it a try. The other Olympus lenses that I have used have given very good results but this lens was so soft that I decided to return it. I may have received a bad copy but will probably just save my money and get the Pro 300 in the future.

My son is an athlete and this lens has been just the ticket for taking photos from the stands. Lots of nicely focused shots at high zoom. It's light weight makes it easy to throw in the bag, and easy to hold when taking photos. Very pleased with the purchase.

Earth's Best 600mm (equiv) Hand-Holdable
By WILLIAM L.
Mount the 75-300mm on an E-M5 and you have a 2-pound rig with which you can EASILY hand hold the equivalent of 600mm telephoto shots. Focus is razor sharp EVERY time, and motion blur is non-existent EVERY time. Images are consistently sharper (viewed at 100%) than hand held shots from my Nikon D800E and the new Nikkor 80-400mm.
Great lens
By JUDY S.
I've just moved to the M4/3 system - formerly shot with a Canon 60D. This lens is SOOOOO much lighter and smaller. It's recommended to use a tripod with such a long lens, but if the subject is well-lit, hand-held shots are still sharp.
