stewart m : Hello will this item fit the E620 checking the Olympus site it calls for an ME-1 are they the same?RALPH R : Yes, it works fine. The eyecup has a bit of a rubber bumper all around that's bigger than the original. More comfort against your eye, though it does go down on top of the screen. When pulling out the screen at the top, it does catch a bit, and sometimes pushes the eyecup up about a millimeter. I use the screen pulled out often, and have learned to pull out at the bottom first. If you seldom pull out the screen, it won't be a problem. I've thought about trimming a bit of rubber off the bottom, but, for me it hasn't been that big a deal. The 20% magnification helps a lot for manual focus. I have been pleased with the performance.AUDREY NOVAK R : It doesn't quite work with the E-620, probably because of the articulating LiveView screen. There isn't enough free space around the virwfinder for the slightly larger eyecup.

Works great with Canon XSi

I read that this eyecup can be used with Canon's entry level DSLR camera's, so took a chance and bought the AS-ME1. Turns out is is a nice fit and the small 1.2x magnification really improves the view. With this eyecup, the XSi gains a view that is similar to the 40D. There is a small penalty in terms of the eye relief, which may bother someone who wears glasses. The optics are quite good and I do not notice any degradation of the image quality. I think the improvement is enough to justify the cost.

A little more close-up.

I bought this one for an E-510. It gives me a little bit more control over the manually chosen AF point. I will use it for safari and game hunting with my Olympus. A bit tricky getting used to. Don’t fit glasses!

Easily focus manual lenses on Olympus E

This magnifier makes it much easier to focus a manual lens on the Olympus E cameras. I use Leica-R lenses on my E-510, this helps a lot, especially when trying to focus wide angle lenses.

Does what it should

Narrows the field of view a tad but more than makes up for it by making manual focus so much easier.

Good for focus and keeps the lcd cleaner

While this doesn't magnify the view a whole lot, it does help in low-light situations where the E-500 can be a little hard to focus and in close-up work where you need critical focus. Other than that, I mainly like that it does increase the distance between your face and the lcd so you're not leaving face-prints on it constantly.

Happy upgrade

Not a huge increase in magnification, in regards to it making manual focusing eaiser then the standard eye piece for the E-500; but some improvement. Biggest difference is the increased distance from the camera body compared to standard eyepiece. Don't feel like I'm smashing my nose and lips against the LCD to frame up any more; and that's a nice feeling.

Easily focus manual lenses on Olympus E

This magnifier makes it much easier to focus a manual lens on the Olympus E cameras. I use Leica-R lenses on my E-510, this helps a lot, especially when trying to focus wide angle lenses.
