I am not specifically familiar with your Olympus camera. This is the only cable that works with Olympus digital cameras. The E-510 has a small USB connector on the back. This cable has a round three pin connector.JOHN D : The E-510 does not have the same remote connector as the E-5.RAINER C : The simple answer is no, but a quick check of the Olympus website (isn't Google great?) gives us the following information: What accessories are available to remotely control the E-510? Two optional remote controllers are available for the E-510: The RM-UC1 Remote Cable Release (item #260237) and the RM-1 Remote Control (item #200597). The RM-UC1 connects to the same USB port on the camera that is used to connect the camera to a computer. The RM-1 is a wireless controller. Both devices remotely trigger the camera's shutter button, and both can be used for long (BULB) exposures such as night photographs. The camera can be set to release the shutter immediately or two seconds after the shutter button on the remote control is pressed. The response time is set by pressing the Sequential Shooting/Self-Timer/Remote Control button, located on the top of the camera to the left of the viewfinder, and then using the control dial to select the setting. The E-510 can also be remotely controlled from a computer using the bundled USB cable and the Camera Control feature of the OLYMPUS Studio 2 application.JENNIFER M : It worked with my E-5 but I don't know if the connection is the same as the E-510

GREAT ADDITION TO MY GEAR

This is my second remote cable to purchase after losing my on a wildflower workshop. Was very happy to find a used one. It does fit my Olympus E-5 even though it is not listed. Works very nicely for long exposure (night) or to get the best shot without camera movement.

Perfect, no glitches

Works for all shutter speeds - including B. No more push the button and wait 2 seconds. Just push the button. It also has a lock mechanism for long shutter exposures. Don't know how I survived without this piece of gear.

I would buy it again

I am using it with Olympus HLD-3, Power Battery Holder for EVOLT E300 Digital Camera. It gives my camera a lot more options. It is lightweight but It feels flimsy. I have it for two months and is working fine but I do not know if it will last.I would buy another one because it is increase the use of the Olympus E-300.

Nice unit - Better price used

Nice unit - provides BULB shutter operation not provided by the IR remote. Bought used - box is a little beat-up but the release looks brand new.

Great Remote for Olympus E-3

I got this remote because I have recently gotten into High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography and this makes it easy to set my camera up on the tripod and snap bracketed exposures. Highly recommended.
