I used an Olympus E-500 for several years that was a great camera. This e-520 with the image stableization, and live view, and larger view screen is a much better camera. I take a lot of photos in the wildwith the Boy Scouts and a lot of publicity photos at work at one of the world largest international airports. I also take lots of family and pet photos. This camera is at home in all these roles. You can't go wrong buying this camera and getting a Great deal from Adorama.

It is a great camera in the price range and gives me everything I would expect. It has a tendency to have noise issues when it get hot. The menu is easy to use and everything you need is right on the screen, no menu hunting that causes you to miss the shot. Light, and fast. Just throw it over your shoulder and have a good time!

I bought a E-Volt 500 from Adorama and absolutely love the quality of the photos. But this E-520 from Olympus with its anti-shake beats anything out there for the price. Cannon's anti-shake gets expensive with its lenses and their sensor cleaner is a sick copy of the Olympus. I get no dust on my photos. None. And I use the camera in dusty conditions all the time. I bought the remote, which is very easy to use and a great buy. I also bought Olympus' 70-300mm telephoto lens. Absolutely a fantastic lens. The only cameras that come close to the photo quality, while costing a lot more, are the Cannon Rebel XT-i, and the Nikon D60. But Olympus' camera with its kit lenses way out do the others for price and quality for the money. It is slow in low light like some have said, but if you spend time getting to know the camera, you will get great shots. I just bump my f-stop up one notch. At 800, I get very little graininess. If you use Ifraw, with IrfanView you can smooth it out extremely well. Both are free photo programs. I use these along with Gimp (free as well) and can do everything Photoshop does. Cannon does a better job in low light, but again for the money and the lenses you get in the kit. Hands down it beats Cannon. You get better photo quality by using the largest JPG mode, but if you adjust your RAW to Vivid and bump the sharpness up one notch, you get great results every time. I often shoot in duel mode using both JPG and RAW, so I do not have to take the extra step of converting over any photos I keep[...]

I'm a photo hobbyist, and I live in the Eastern Sierra of California...home to the likes of Galen Rowell and Ansel Adams. Photographers from around the world vacation in my home, so I am up against some pretty stiff competition to get something "new" with my camera. I take a TONE of wildlife photos...mainly snakes and reptiles, but I also enjoy wildflowers and landscapes. This camera does it all! Of course, as a single father to a 5 year old daughter...I certainly take my fair share of portraits, too, and this camera excels at every aspect.

I use this camera for my photography business, so naturally I find myself in many different locations with many different surroundings. This camera provides me with the necessary options for all of these situations and the picture quality is always fantastic. I couldn't have been happier with Adorama's service as well. All in all - 2 thumbs up!

I use the camera for travel. Both my wife and I have Olympus e series she switched from Nikon. The camera is light and does as advertised. It takes great photographs and that is all a camera is for.

I love the size and ease of use of this camera. I use the e-510 and bought this e-520 for my teenage daughter. She loves it. The learning curve isn't long and the results of the photos are second to none.

The Olympus E-520 is a 10.0 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera with 2.7" HyperCrystal II LCD Screen and 14-42mm Lens. The E-520's industry-leading Image Stabilization technology, which is built into the camera body, compensates for movement so you can capture blur-free shots with any lens even at slow shutter speeds. Autofocus Live View brings subjects into sharp focus; it is the perfect tool for macro, portrait or even landscape shooting. This camera was built to produce amazing results for photo hobbyists and serious digital photographers alike.
The 14-42mm standard zoom lens is the smallest and lightest in its class and features a closest focusing distance of only 25cm. The ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and two aspherical lens elements correct aberrations without increasing lens dimensions. The circular aperture diaphragm enables beautiful defocusing - one of the big advantages of this lens
