I've had two other Olympus SLRs and this one is the best so far! I love this camera - my photos are exceptionally good - it's easy to use - I love the swivel LCD and I love having a view-finder. I will stay with the Olympus product. I've not been disappointed at all.

Good product, great display. Still like my E-510 better, but have only had this one for a few weeks. The display is much better than the E510

The Olympus e620 is a dream camera. Lots of useful features, great build quality, tack sharp Zuiko lenses, and wonderful ergonomics. The 4/3rds format allows a much lighter and more portable kit. Image quality is excellent. Lenses and accessories are very comprehensive from Olympus. I bought a Sigma 18 - 125mm zoom (36mm-250mm equiv.) from Adorama used. Its no longer made but I recommend it.The only real complaint that I have is the camera produces a bit of noise at ISOs over 800. Aside from that, its a bargain. [...] I will shop here again.

Great camera they improved the image sensor. the long exposures have a lot less noise and better detail. the flip screen makes unusual angles much easier.

researched a lot of dslr's. The E620 had the features and toys i wanted at an excellent price. My only concern is the plastic lens mount....we'll see how that holds up.

I am coming from superzoom cameras - so I wanted an slr that would get me a variety of focal lengths with decent aperture, and wasn't huge. The only real con is the noise at higher iso. It doesn't look bad when printed, or resampled to smaller size for screen display. Pixel peepers may be disappointed. I'd say up to iso 800 is fine, and if using noiseware/noiseninja, noise just isn't as much of an issue. This is easy to get around though, since fast zooms are generally cheaper in four thirds than canon/nikon while still being optically excellent. If you're not familiar with olympus Consider the 14-54mm f2.8-4.5, the 40-150mm f3.5-4.5 and 9-18mm f4-5.6 lenses for a range of focal lengths with decent speeds without breaking the bank. The camera has some nice features like pixel mapping whith can help with bad pixels. 4 shots per second. Sensor based image stabilization will work on any lens - even optically beautiful old manual lenses which can be acquired for a song. Live view can help in several circumstances. When manually focusing at max zoom, it can give a good reading of how well focused the lens is. If shooting from an awkward position, the swivel lcd + liveview combo really helps a ton. Color reproduction is excellent. The menusystem is complicated, and not as easy as some other systems, but it does give quick access to several necessary aspects quickly. For the battery, as with any camera - carry a spare. Bracketing is limited to +/- 1 stop which is kinda lame.

I travel a lot and I have used the E-300 for years. Since I developed a nerve problem, I need a camera that helps with stabilization and this camera upgrade fits the bill. I am very pleased with the increased resolution, the dual focusing abilities and the larger, clearer LCD. All of my lens fit this camera body so there was no added expense. The Art Effects are a nice feature too. The light weight construction of the camera is a plus but it also makes it noisey which can be a distraction and not conducive to candid or wildlife shots. I hope that it will prove to be as rugged as the E-300.

This camera is great. Very easy to use, I love the menu set up. I was speeding through the settings in no time. Really like the art filters. For the price this camera has a lot going for it--except--the stobing flash for a flash assist and a bit slow in low light focusing. Still very fast, but not quite there when chasing a 3 yr old--however, that is easily fixed with a faster lens. Very light weight. Check the grip too--I prefer a little more to grab. But all around great--can't beat features for the price.

Perfect For me

I use my camera when we travel and for taking shots of our beautiful dogs - our children & family members and at zoos, horse farms, etc. It is easy to use and captures beautiful images in amazing colors. I don't have any issues with this camera and it is my third Olympus!
The Olympus E-620 12.3 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera features six creative in-camera art filters, Multiple Exposure shooting and a swivel Live View 2.7" HyperCrystal III LCD offer artistic freedom and endless creative possibilities. The 12.3-megapixel Live MOS sensor and TruePic III+ processor provide exceptional picture quality. With in-body Image Stabilization and small 16.76-ounce body, the E-620 is a camera that truly lets you shoot outside the frame.
From the bright colors of Pop Art to the gritty black and white of Grainy Film, the six in-camera art filters transform your photography into works of art. Pop Art super-saturates colors, creating brighter, more vivid photographs. Soft Focus creates a dreamlike quality giving photographs a fantasy feel. Pale and Light Color brings soft, flat light and pastel coloring to photographs. Grainy Film produces a gritty high-contrast black-and-white film look. Light Tone brightens the image and its darker areas, providing more detail. Pin Hole darkens the outer edges of a photograph, therefore enhancing the subject in the center and bringing the photograph to life.
With this new camera's Multiple Exposure function you are free to tell a visual story your way, whether in a portrait, a landscape or a combination of both. The image capture options allow you to shoot two shots on the same frame, use a save shot and then shoot another, or to capture up to 3 shots separately and combine them in the camera later. Superimpose your own portrait with a starry night sky to create a photo with the impact you desire. Let your imagination lead you to new creative discoveries.
The ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 3x standard zoom lens is the smallest and lightest in its class and features a closest focusing distance of only 25cm. The ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and two aspherical lens elements correct aberrations without increasing lens dimensions. The circular aperture diaphragm enables beautiful defocusing - one of the big advantages of this lens. Excellent mobility is assured by a weight of less than 190 grams.
