I use this camera primarily for landscapes although I've also used it to take beautiful people pictures. It's not a point and shoot but its easy to learn its limitations to get exquisite results. I rarely shoot above ISO 800 so noise is a non issue with me. Its easy to balance just the right amount of flash for stunning indoor portraits and still maintain the ambience of the background with a bit of an iso boost. I also own another brand of DSLR but seems as though I reach for the olympus more often. I just find it more user friendly and lighter in weight. I especially like the rotating live view display. The utility of this simply cannot be overstated. This versatility adds a lot to my enjoyment of the camera. I've always liked the color rendition of olympus cameras and this camera does not disappoint me. One thing that is great about this system is that I've never had any focusing issues or lens issues that I've had with other brands. I've a higher end camera from another manufacturer and recently had to return two very expensive lenses because of quality control issues until I received a good copy. I've not experienced this with olympus lenses. It may not be as versatile as offerings from a few other manufacturers in terms of very high ISO performance or continuous autofocus. But these are functions that I rarely use anyway. You really can so anything with this camera if you get to know it ... as you should!

I use it for landscapes, grandkids, and wildlife. I have used the camera up to 2500 iso and is easily corrected by shooting raw and post processing, as long as the exposure is correct. This camera is refurbished and fuctions nicely. I would buy it again.Dick the carver

I upgraded from an e420 to get image stabilization, but the 620 offers a suite of other features as well, including a swivel/tilt LCD. The Super Control Panel on the LCD makes it incredibly easy to change most of the settings that you would use on a daily basis. Olympus image quality is superb, even straight out of the camera in JPEG. And the kit lenses are far better, from all the reviews I've read, than those from other camera manufacturers. Plus you can use legacy glass from film cameras with an adapter, which is an inexpensive way to get your hands on prime lenses. I wanted a compact camera, but the micro 4/3 cameras lack an optical viewfinder, which was essential to me, so I went with this one. With the 25mm pancake lens attached, this is still very compact. I love this camera. Note: I purchased this camera refurbished, but it looks new. I checked the shutter actuations: there were only 256 when I took the camera out of the box.

I own an Olympus E-500, but wanted more pixels. The E-620 uses same lenses, is faster, and has more useful features in addition to more pixels. The viewfinder indicator bar helps me to quickly adjust in manual mode for just the exposure that I want. I'm still learning what all this camera can do, but so far I am very pleased.

I purchased this cam because I hate to post process images. JPEG images from this cam require very little post processing. Also for the price, olympus optics simply can't be beat. The only fault I can find with the system is that the dynamic range may not be as good as other DSLR systems. But I can live with a little less dynamic range in exchange for excellent affordable optics and not having to post process a lot of images and shoot raw.

Just a hobbyist photographer new to the game of DSLR. Generally auto focus speed is reasonable. Low light tends to make the focus hunt. You can get around this by using an external flash that shoots the red focus grid. Pay extra for the high grade Olympus lenses and be rewarded with sharp and vivid pictures.

I decided on this camera because I was going from an OMG to a digital and Olympus recommended it as a replacement. With the 4/3 adapter I can use my old lenses with it. It works beautifully so far except for the internal flash. It seems to be directed to the left which could have something to do with it being a refurbished model, I don't know.

I received the E-420 for Christmas two years ago and purchased the E-620 as a second camera for my youth sports action photos. I can't recall the last time I pulled the 420 out of the bag now. The E-620 is very responsive to whatever I ask of it.
The Olympus E-620 12.3 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera features six creative in-camera art filters, Multiple Exposure shooting and a swivel Live View 2.7" HyperCrystal III LCD offer artistic freedom and endless creative possibilities. The 12.3-megapixel Live MOS sensor and TruePic III+ processor provide exceptional picture quality. With in-body Image Stabilization and small 16.76-ounce body, the E-620 is a camera that truly lets you shoot outside the frame.
From the bright colors of Pop Art to the gritty black and white of Grainy Film, the six in-camera art filters transform your photography into works of art. Pop Art super-saturates colors, creating brighter, more vivid photographs. Soft Focus creates a dreamlike quality giving photographs a fantasy feel. Pale and Light Color brings soft, flat light and pastel coloring to photographs. Grainy Film produces a gritty high-contrast black-and-white film look. Light Tone brightens the image and its darker areas, providing more detail. Pin Hole darkens the outer edges of a photograph, therefore enhancing the subject in the center and bringing the photograph to life.
With this new camera's Multiple Exposure function you are free to tell a visual story your way, whether in a portrait, a landscape or a combination of both. The image capture options allow you to shoot two shots on the same frame, use a save shot and then shoot another, or to capture up to 3 shots separately and combine them in the camera later. Superimpose your own portrait with a starry night sky to create a photo with the impact you desire. Let your imagination lead you to new creative discoveries.
The ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 3x standard zoom lens is the smallest and lightest in its class and features a closest focusing distance of only 25cm. The ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and two aspherical lens elements correct aberrations without increasing lens dimensions. The circular aperture diaphragm enables beautiful defocusing - one of the big advantages of this lens. Excellent mobility is assured by a weight of less than 190 grams.
