Olympus ECG-1 Grip for E-M10 Digital Camera

I purchased this grip shortly after I purchased my camera. When it came, it simply wouldn't fit onto the camera. As far as I could tell, the vertical piece was too close and/or tilted towards the camera. I sent it back to Adorama for replacement, and they came through quite well. (Yay!) When the second one showed up, it was clear that the locating pin on the large section of the grip was too large or the hole for the pin on the camera body was too small. Take your pick. (BTW, I'm an engineer by profession, and am usually pretty good at figuring out this sort of thing.) I will be sending the second one back to Adorama, hoping I will have the same success as the other folks who've commented on the value of this accessory.

Love this! It really adds to the camera. Makes it easier to hold. It could be a lot bigger and I wouldn't have complaints. Easy to take off for battery changes. Only drawback is using with the quick release plate for a tripod. You have to take the entire grip off or take the quick release plate off first. Either way, great product.

I ordered the OMD E-M10 and with my Panasonic 14mm f/2.5, the camera was fine as is. I also used this with my Panasonic 14-45mm and the weight wasn't a problem. Sold the 14-45mm and got the Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 and this was a beast. I found myself looking for a firmer hold and decided to order this grip. It definitely adds a firmer and more secure grip to the camera and I now leave this grip on all the time. It does not add very much weight and is very easy to take on and off with the quick release. If you are looking for a firmer and more secure hold on your OMD E M10, it's a must buy. Easy to add and remove if needed.

This grip is an essential accessory for the Olympus E-M10. I leave it on the camera all the time. The native grip on the camera is fine for many small and light MFT lenses, but I appreciate the extra depth from this grip for my larger (manual focus, zoom or legacy) lenses. The grip has been carefully designed to fit tightly to the camera with no gaps. The grip itself is sculpted to become slightly deeper and thicker from top to bottom. The bottom plate only adds about 1/4 inch. One super feature is the quick release to remove most of the grip (except for where it screws into the camera) for access to the battery and SD card. I wish the EM-5 grip could do the same thing. This grip does not have room for an extra battery, but, with the easy access, there is no issue. AND... the price is right. Thanks Olympus!
