Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?DAVID H : I've used previous Olympus grip straps in the past and they were always comfortable and trouble-free. Plus their buckle allows you to connect a neck strap at the same time, if you need to. Since this strap is designed specifically for my E-M1 body with HLD-7 battery grip, it should be perfect for my needs.ROGER E : Each of my E-M1 camera bodies have this grip strap, which I find much better to use than the neck straps. They also work well with my Black Rapid dual harness, allowing quick acquisition of the body for that sudden shot.

Hand Grip Strap

The material is vinyl. I also have an original grip strap from the old E-1 days made of leather and it is a is a five-star item.

How I Carry my Cameras

I use this strap on three camera bodies: Two copies of the OMD E-M1 and one copy of the OMD E-M1 Mark II. So yes it works with both the HLD-7 and the HLD-9. My neck no longer likes camera straps, so I have found these to work well either by themselves or with the camera attached to the Black Rapid Yeti dual straps that I have. I have zero concerns of the stap coming loose or loosing a strap eyelet off of the camera. I have bigger hands, so the fit is snug, but not uncomfortably so.

The Olympus GS-5 Grip Strap is designed specifically for use with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mirrorless Digital Camera with the HLD-7 grip attached. This grip strap wraps around the back of the right hand and is used to provide additional stability and security when handling the camera. It attaches to the bottom of the HLD-7 grip and to the strap lug of the E-M1 and features an adjustable touch-tab fastener for a personalized fit.
