The shock mount results in a significant improvement to the sound recorded by the Olympus LS-P5 linear pcm sound recorder. However, the Olympus version is virtually identical to those readily available from other manufacturers such as Movo for no more than $20. There is no difference in sound quality from the cheaper shock mounts based on my tests.
