For those with the "macro bug," this flash is indispensable! Camera and subject motion are the twin banes of macro photographers, with narrow depth-of-field a close third. This (together with FC-01 controller) solves all three problems! With the FC-01 controller, you can vary the light ratio between the two flash heads, controlling shadows so you don't end up with that "flat" look that ring lights give. If you need to control reflection, you can easily use "crossed polarization," by putting a rotatable polarizer on the lens, then sliding bits of polarizing film into little slots on the flash heads. My only criticism is that these are not interchangeable with the outstanding OM macro flash accessories. I'd love to be able to plug the OM ring light into the FC-01 controller.

I've been searching for this unit at a reasonable price for a few years now. I own the ring flash but for macro work thus often leaves the shot looking flat. With the TF-22's twin heads and the ability to contol the power of each head independently and still have true TTE capabilities close ups have new depth.
