Questions & Answers

Shopper : Can I use a remote cable shutter release on this camera?JESSE I : no but the shutter auto timer works well!!!ANDREA Z : I don't think so. The TG-820 has no wifi capability and it is all sealed up to make it waterproof.JOSHUA V : Not that I can see.GARY J : no
Shopper : does this work?RYAN M : Soooooo wellPATRICK W : It does! I purchased this to shoot a canoe trip for a client (wasn't about to take my Nikon D3 + lenses ++ on a canoe) on a high end incentive trip. I was impressed with the performance, client loved the images, and I have put it in the hands of my two sons (6 and 2) on two subsequent beach trips with no issues. They do everything to it you would expect - little fingers pushing every button the wrong way, sand, drops, ocean - has worked flawlessly!WANDA H : Yes. It works great. Takes wonderful pictures and the size makes it easy to handle. My husband has had it's younger brother for several years and we upgraded and are so glad we did. We love it. MELANIE S : Takes better pictures than my old olympus waterproof (5 years) which worked fine until I lost it during a race. My very first week I almost lost it flipping in a rapid. My camera was connected by a cord to my life jacket and was wrapped around a branch holding me in the center of a rapid. I managed to retrive my camera and it still worked fine, even with the huge force and water pressure on it. There is a small scratch probably from bashing against a rock. My only complaint would be that it is slightly heavier/thicker than the previous version. I specifically bought this camera instead of the top model because I can't use gps while racing. My camera lives a very hard life.M A H : Mine works great! Love it! Very user friendly and takes great photos.ERIC M : I bought this camera because of its features, reviews and it had the best locking system for the battery/SD card bay, most rugged PS's fail there. I've used this camera all around and just recently on a vacation were my niece was constantly using it in the pool. Once received from Adorama, the camera did take a few minutes to truely set up and start getting some very, nice pics. Honestly, right out of the box the pics were really bad, saturated and underexposed but it was just a matter of getting the settings right. It has tons of option to make that important pic just right. I was also very impressed with its low light pics, better than most PS I've had. When setup in its equivalent "auto mode" it does superbly at taking great shots. We also had a fast driven tour around St. Marteen, having almost all the shots taken on winding, tropical forest covered roads turn out super well, like "that guy" would say, "set it and forget it". The flash recycles very quickly, so their is almost no lag there. The camera does hold some water in nooks and crannies, just park it upright a few minutes over a dry cloth, towel or napkin and it will dry up before you put it away, the water will come out from the bottom, if in a hurry, tap it a few times on a towel in your hand. I also recommend buying a good Class 6+ (10 if you plan on using the nifty 5 frames per second feature), water proof and shock proof SD card. By the way Adorama's service was great also, friendly, fast shipping, and quick to respond to some opportunities with original order.DENNIS K : TG-820 works very well. I would purchase it again. Adorama service was excellent.CHRISTINE W : Bought this for vacation. It went everywhere with us in The Cayman Islands. Horseback riding, swimming with dolphins, to the beach and lots of snorkeling. Worked great. Love it. VARALEE M : yes, it works well underwater at my bath tub, haven't have a chance to go to pool or beach. Pics quality is just.......acceptableWUSHJXM H : YES.It works great.
Shopper : This is a new in the box camera?ROBERT M : Yes, this camera was new and in the factory packaging. We owned an older version of this camera and it was lost. Since we've purchased this camera it has already been in and under the water. The photo quality is very nice.M A H : yesRAYMOND K : yes, the camera is hard to operate its functions compared to canon or Nikon.ANDREW R : The item in this product listing is new (not used or refurbished)

Awesome

I love this camera...great deal for it's price! I have always been a canon person, but I find this camera awesome! I think it is easy to use and very intuitive! Not too hard to figure out. I love how rugged it is. I can let my toddler take pictures with it too as it has no zoom lens and zooms somehow internally.....with a plate that slides over the screen! Awesome as he can't break it like he broke our two previous cameras. Also, he can drop it and it's totally okay! Takes great outdoor pictures and actions pictures....which is what we're using it for! I can't wait to use it with my kids at the pool and beach and snorkeling! I have already used it outside while playing in the pool and with the sprinkler with the kids - it's great! It has a fast shutter speed so you can definitely catch the shot you want with little kids. I wish that the button in the middle to select with was more like a canon and easier to use...it is just easy to select the wrong thing with my big fingers! However, just do it more slowly and I get it right. I also with the battery lasted a little longer....I just need to buy a back up one. Great pictures at dusk and sunset!

Nice water proof camera

Average photographic performance and excellent water resistance for a great price. Image quality is fair (not as good as either my Sony bridge or my Panasonic P&S) but is acceptable. Needed something for taking photos in downpours and at the waterpark and this camera meets the criteria and did not cost much.

Good bang for the buck!

Perfect for our family vacation. Easy to carry along, great video and underwater captures. We will probably buy another one from Adorama.

Exactly What I Wanted!!

Purchased to take on a Grand Cayman snorkeling vacation. Took over 2000 pictures in 9 days. Loved how durable the camera was and took it everywhere. Loved taking it snorkeling on the reef. I got some fantastic shots. By the end of vacation everyone was asking if they could use my camera. Only thing I would change is I wish there were a few additional underwater adjustments you could make, otherwise perfect!

Good camera

Only had it a month. Excellent pics. Little heavy. To retrieve pics., the opening and closing the access door is a pain.

Rugged camera for the outdoor enthusiast

I purchased a Tough 810 five years ago and loved it. Unfortunately, I dropped it off a cliff while hiking and was unable to retrieve it. I decided to replace my Tough 810 with the Tough 820 because of the added Magic Filters. I just returned from a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park and the 820 did not disappoint.

love it

I bought this to replace the Tough 320 that I drowned. the 820 has a duel lock and if either is not locked, the lock switch is red. Fool proof for someone like me. I have a very expensive Digital which I managed to scratch the lens on. That can not happen with this great little camera.

This new stylus rocks...

I've been shooting these as snap shots cameras since the 400 in 2003, I have the 8010 and it was good, but the start up was 6sec, this new version is a hair under 1sec so that is good! the bad thing I noticed was in video mode it has a tough time focusing on moving objects, I was at the beach at 3pm and the dogs were running around, it had a tough time keeping focus. The good side the color on picts seams much better then the 8010. The 1080 vid is nicer then the 720 on other models. I got this a week ago and it's nice for sure I will now sell my 8010 my full time camera is the Canon 7D but this is great to take kayaking, camping etc on !!!
