My old cassette tape recorder finally died & I decided to replace it with a digital voice recorder. Should have done it years ago, there's just no comparison between the two. The digital voice recorder is so much more versatile and I no longer have to carry a 'stack' of cassette tapes with me when I attend a weekend seminar. The sound quality is truly amazing for as small as this unit is once you've transfered the recorded files to your computer. Free transcription software available online makes moving around the file & transcribing it a breeze.

I use this product while driving a 40 minute commute to work. It works great for capturing thoughts that I would have scribbled on most any thing I could grab. I am not good at reading the scribbles or keeping up with bits and pieces of paper that end up crammed in my purse. The sound quality is good when played back through a laptop. I haven't tried the product for recording a hypnosis script but plan to do so in the future. It is a good buy for the price.

Incredible versatility at a great price. I purchased this recorder for work. I was surprised to find out how many settings for recording quality were available. It was nice to see segregated mics for stereo recordings. It was nice to see Olympus designed the recorder so that no matter how the recorder was placed there were holes on the front, rear and corners to assure accurate recording. I primarily use the recorder in interviews and meetings. Although the recording quality was great with reduced background noise, I purchased a noise-cancelling mic to help in enviroments with poor acoustics. I have found no cons to this product yet. Great design for easy downloading, small and compact and easy to operate.
