As advertised. Nice lens. Sharp and small.
So far in limited use, I'm happy with the kens. Small and light considering it's f2.8. Sharp throughout the zoom range and at all apertures, but especially so at f4. Flare is an issue, though, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.

Very pleased!
So pleased with IQ, build quality and OIS I bought two! Use them both professionally 6 days a week extreme weather and not one problem. Fast dependable and fantastic images / video.

Good Lens, Bad Finish
Purchased this lens for my GX8 while Adorama was offering 30% deal. Any zoom I used has to have a fixed aperture. Usage has been limited but results are so far pretty good. The AF is very quick, very quiet. Video use is probably realistic. My main disappointment aesthetics: the semi-shiny plum/gray finish is entirely different from my matte back Lumix body. Don't know if this is a permanent design change or if it was a limited batch Adorama was trying to get rid of, but it just doesn't look right. I'll likely call and try to exchange. Other buyers should be aware.

Great lens, exceptional IQ
Having owned both the 12mm f2.0 and the 12-40 f2.8 Olympus lenses in past, I had never really considered this lens as an option. However, after leaving M43, and selling all my entire system a couple of years ago, to move to a different system, I found myself back in the M43 fold again this year, and was looking for other options.
I loved the Oly 12mm, and planned to buy one again (but was waiting for a sale on it, as it is a little pricey for what it is). I did have an Oly 12-40mm in past, but found it to be uncomfortable to hold (it's front heavy) on the smaller M43 bodies, so I wasn't interested in getting another. So, in the meantime, I decided to give this 12-35mm a try, especially since the pricing has become very competitive on it now.
I am very impressed with this lens. Not only is it small and well balanced on the cameras (even the diminutive GM5), I find the images from it have more depth and dimensionality than those from many of the other M43 lenses. It really gets a lot more out of the sensor than I thought was possible.
It's got terrific contrast and microcontrast, and it is sharp with good color rendition. What more can you ask for from a lens?
People seem to gravitate towards the 12-40mm Oly more than this lens, but I'm not sure why. I'd far rather have a smaller, better balanced, and equally capable lens (which this is), with OIS to boot.

I am liking this lens so far
I am impressed with the very nice brokeh background using this lens so far . I have a 14- 45 lens for my Panosanic system and am testing whether this 12-35 can be as useful and whether I should keep them both. I am going to do some portrait sorts this weekend and then I will know whether I truly love this lens!

A Special Lens
I had bought a GM5 kitted with the compact version of this lens (12-32mm, F/3.5-4,5). Although the pictures with that lenswere very good, I found that I had to use a flash indoors because of the smaller apertures. With the special sales pricing on the 12-35mm F/2.8, I decided to buy it despite the duplication in focal lengths. It had converted the GM5 into a serious camera that I could use indoors without a flash. Pictures with it were sharp and with adequate DOF to cover groups of people in a candid setting. I could have paired a prime with the GM5, but this lens was more convenient to use without having to bother people around me by constantly moving around in order to get proper framing.
