Great value most underrated lens. This was my workhorse of the bunch in my last Autumn trip. The auto focus is a spot on. I set my LUMIX G85 to live view. So what you see on screen is want get to shoot. Only con is that at 12mm it will vignette so I zoom out until the vignette is gone.

Very nice all around value lens to have which in my opinion is very underrated. Just got back from a autumn Smoky Mountain trip and this lens was the work horse. The only con to this lens is the vignetting you get on live view at wide angle 14mm. Why I gave it 4 stars. Just zoom in until the vignetting goes away and you?re ready to shoot. Works very well with the cameras auto focus. I shoot with my cameras live view set to on so what I see on screen is what a get, easy, If I ever break this lens I will absolutely buy again. This comes with many LUMIX cameras as a kit lens, so definitely a plus.

I used the lens for the first time tonight, mainly shooting textures and lens effects with a packet of close-up filters that I already had. I really went to town shooting reflected light and objects behind a frosted glass door and behind a checquered shower curtain this evening. If all goes well-and so far I think it will-this lens, along with the new Olympus OM-D E-10 Mark II which I purchased earlier, could be a big success for me!

OK - where to begin as I have so many different feelings about this lens. OK, to preface my remarks, we'd all love to afford the expensive big boy lenses that tout those constant F2.8 apertures. But you will pay for it, that's for sure. That leaves most of us trying to find a suitable kit zoom lens that covers a fairly large zoom range. There are tons of zoom lenses out from all of the brands that basically cover a 28-75 or 28-80 MM equivalent focal length. But what about the highly desired focal range of 24-120 (equivalent)? Way back when I had the older Olympus 12-50 f3.5-6.3, I started to become quite disappointed with its optical performance and had lamented out loud on various photo forums that I wished another reasonably priced 12-60 (24-120 MM equivalent) lens would be announced. It may have taken Panasonic a few years to get to this point, but when they announced the 12-60 f3.5-5.6 OIS, I was stoked to say the least. Yet I held off getting that lens until a good year or so after it was announced - mainly to see what the reviews stated. Well, surprisingly, there weren't many reviews on this lens (still isn't for that matter), and the few I read indicated that they liked the lens, but it was nothing special. Bummer, I thought. But I had the chance to pick up a new 12-60 that was on sale at a great price - so I went ahead a pulled the trigger on one. When it arrived, I was surprised to see that it was a well constructed lens, was weatherproofed, had a metal lens mount, and both looked/balanced quite well on a variety of Micro 4/3 lenses. But more so, I found the optical performance to be superb! The sharpness levels I was getting with this lens had me smiling (out loud, if that's possible). Images were sharp across the frame and I became hooked. I'd have to now state that in my opinion, this is one of the finest kit lenses available from any brand that I know of (and I've tried quite a few of 'em).l I've fallen in love with this lens so much that I purchased two more of them - keeping one on my E-M5, one on my GH4, and one on my E-M10 Mk II. And that's where they'll stay because this lens is that good. Now there is one disclaimer - in that it is a given that copy to copy variations can exist with any lens. It's happened to many of us from time to time. But I must say, I now have 3 of these wonderful lenses - and all are excellent copies. So I give this a "highly recommended" considering it's low price point vs its stellar optical performance. Need I say more? Ben Herrmann Fuquay Varina, NC

I already have the Olympus 12-40 f2.8 Pro, and you have to look very close to see the difference in image quality. Overall, I prefer the Panasonic 12-60mm. It is smaller, lighter and has a longer zoom range, and it costs a lot less.
