I use it with GH2 body as one-size-fits-all traveling lens and it serves its purpose: lightweight, reasonably fast, versatile. I compared it with two other lenses: 12-35/f2.8 and 100-300/f4-5.6. As expected, AF it is a bit slower and picture is a bit fuzzier than for the first one (for both 14 and 35 mm zoom) but quality is the same as for the second one for zoom= 140mm. Besides, as with any other lenses, it is practically impossible to use it for video due to noticeable AF hunt.

The lens is a bit heavy but makes it feel solid too. Manual zoom so no noise. I've gotten very sharp photos. Color seems accurate too.

This lens is a superzoom with a focal length comparable to 28-280mm on a full size sensor. As such there is a tradeoff; weight and larger minimal aperatures vs convenience. The 14-140 is designed to be used on cameras capable of functioning very well at ISOs from 1600-6400 depending on the model its mounted on. This along with image stabilization makes it useful in many settings. It's great as an everyday lens. Teamed with a fast prime it is marvelous for travel. Indoors it works very well by itself at the higher ISOs and even better with flash. Video, you don't hear the motor when it focuses but the large aperature gets in the way unless you have extra lighting. That's where the fast prime would come in. That prime is also useful where no flash is allowed. From my understanding pros who are into mirrorless use this lens for their videos but they use extra lighting as well. Weight? It weighs about one pound. A superzoom of this range and construction from a major manufacturer on an APC or full sensor camera will weigh anywhere from 2.5 to almost 4 pounds. The images it helps to produce? On an electrical device (computer, smartphone, tablet) almost flawless. Printed, some grain at 16x20. If you're looking for pro quality, constant aperature speed and ease be prepared to spend $2500 for two lenses that together don't cover the focal length that this one does. If you're not ready to do that then really think about this one.

is meant for photo not video, (i use it on panasonic af100) so it is kind of dark, and jerky to zoom, and the fact that has to extend is a bummer, sad part is supossed the best for my camera. hope panasonic makes some lenses meant for it.

This is my carry around lens . I have a 1.7 25 for low light and a 45 macro for close-up. All these can be carried in a small bag.

Got this to go along with my brand new Panasonic GX1 body. Yeah it's a bit on the slow side (gets above f5 by the time you get to 50mm), but as long as you're in good light this lens cannot be beaten in the general-purpose category. Plus, pair it with a Panasonic body and distortion & chromatic aberrations are automatically corrected in-camera even for RAW output. Expensive but a winner!

Product Highlights
Whether you’re looking to add to your Micro Four Thirds lens series or making your first investment, there are few lenses at Adorama that more warrant your consideration than the PANASONIC Lumix G Vario 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 POWER O.I.S. MICRO 4/3 - BLACK.
From the Manufacturer
The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 Power O.I.S. Lens (Black) is a wide-angle to telephoto zoom lens compatible with cameras featuring the Micro Four Thirds lens mount. Its 14-140mm focal length is equivalent to 28-280mm in 35mm format and provides a 75-8.8deg. angle of view. The Power Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S.) keeps your images free of blur, even if your hands are unsteady, by compensating for camera shake twice as effectively as MEGA O.I.S.
The lens contains three aspherical elements to eliminate coma and other types of lens aberration and two ED glass elements to enhance sharpness and color correction by minimizing chromatic aberration. Multi-coated lens elements minimize ghosting and flare. The Internal Focusing system lets you focus without altering the size of the lens, enabling a closer minimum focusing distance of 0.98' at the widest focal lengths (14-21mm) and 1.64' at 22-140mm.
Additionally, the lens utilizes a stepping motor to enable smooth, silent focusing during both photo and video capture. The circular aperture diaphragm features seven blades that create visually pleasing bokeh in the out-of-focus regions of the image. When used with certain compatible cameras, including the DMC-GH3/G6, the lens supports high-speed shooting at up to 240 fps to take advantage of contrast AF.
The 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 is compact and lightweight, with a 67mm diameter and an overall length of 2.95", but features a durable metal mount. It accepts 58mm filters. Supplied with the lens are front and rear caps, a lens hood for blocking out unwanted light and a convenient storage bag.
