The Leica DG Summilux 9mm F1.7 is for use by professionals and high amateur users for both photo shooting and video recording, capable of smooth, silent operation to work with the camera's high-speed, high-precision contrast AF system with the sensor drive at max.240 fps. For the non-linear setting, focus is shifted with a variable amount according to the rotation speed of the focus ring while focus is shifted with a designated amount according to the rotational quantum of the focus ring for the linear setting. I worried about the low light performance of the M43 system, but with this fantastic lens, it's not a problem at all. Highly recommended!

Great for low light situations on an m43. Amazing video lens!

Hard to beat for the price

Fantastic lens. Use on both my Olympus OM-1 and EP5.  Great as a walk around lens for shooting street scenes and shooting  museums indoors.   Small enough on my EP-5 to carry in my pocket.

Love this lens -- very wide but almost no distortion, very sharp and relatively fast for an MFT lens.

Works for me

It's so nice to have a wide-wide angle lens (18mm equiv) that's not only not a fisheye, but also very much rectilinear.  Even on my old G85 the corrections seem to be working to straighten out lines -- except for the very edges of the frame.  It's great for vlogging, but also architectural photos.  And a very good price considering the Leica name!

Being wide and fast is usually rare, which is what makes this lens special. Not only is is gimbal ready, but it's a stop faster than most at this aperture AND it's a native Panasonic lens so it communicates with the body AND there's nearly no distortion which is characteristic of wide focal lengths.

Fast, light wide angle lens

Nice m4/3 18mm f1.7 great wide angle lens but like all wide angle lens, it is prone to flaring when shooting a backlit subject. I shoot in Raw File and fix the issues in post processing. Got this lens early because of an upcoming Utah trip.

Great light ultra wide to have in a small kit. Sharp image quality. Pairs nice with the Olympus 12-100 for walk around when you don't want to bring a bunch of gear.
