I LOVE MY GH5

I've always loved the Panasonic GH cameras, and the GH5 is not different. A perfect fit and weight for my hands, providing a most comfortable usage. The cage for the memory cards is a little stiff, but I imagine that's because it's still new; however, it does not deter anything. So far, I've only shot photos, and my results reveal that I need to learn the 12-60, as well as C1, C2 and C3. Right now, it's fun and most enjoyable. I'm looking forward to shooting video.

GH5, Can do it all and a great tip of the day!

A great camera!! Forget the fact that it is a M43 sensor, and focus good glass!! There is nothing this camera will not do and do great!!! If you are good at what you do, this camera will do it for you!! Focus is not an issue if you program it right and you know how to use it!! there is nothing on this planet that is perfect, but knowing how to use things with limitations is a great trait to have!! This is my third GH5 and it works great for me!! BTW good glass is not expensive, so here's your great tip of the day!!

The Perfect Tool

When the 2020 pandemic hit I was tasked with videoing our local church masses for the duration, As anticipated, this remains a long term project, and a rugged, reliable, video oriented hybrid workhorse camera was needed. As a long time Lumix user, the GH5 was the obvious choice. It has served well, without any glitches or surprises, and I expect it will continue to do so into 2021. Nice bonus is the Leica kit lens, which is versatile, sharp, and balances well on the GH5. This is a kit which I intend to keep well past the current COVID crisis.

Rugged Camera for the Video Professional

Superb video and stills camera. The GH5 has been out long enough for thorough vetting by countless videographers, and it certainly has been a consistently reliable workhorse for the dozens of projects I've used it for since getting it about six months ago. The Leica-branded 24-120mm equivalent zoom is also a solid performer, sharp and versatile. No arbitrary recording time limit, no overheating issues, and rugged weather resistant construction make this a consummate professional's tool.

A strong contender, even in late 2020

Suppose you want a small but fully capable 4K camera and lens system for video production that is also an excellent stills camera. For this use case, the GH5 is a strong contender, even in late 2020. This holds true as long as you are not seduced by the full-frame madness. There are plenty of pundits that benefit from the ad revenue they generate with YouTube videos ringing the death knells of the Micro-Four-Thirds (MFT) format. However, I suggest you should focus your research on the opinions of people who use their cameras day in and day out. I understand the benefits of full-frame cameras, and I've shot with them; however, I like a lightweight kit for my personal work that I carry in one small backpack: a GH4 and a GH5, along with a travel tripod, three lenses along with accessories, filters, and extra batteries. The Achilles heel of the GH5 is the auto-focus when shooting video. However, one can learn how to coax it into working reasonably well, and for me, it's not that important

Too often the hype exceeds the delivered product. Not in this case! The GH5 feels right in all of my uses whether photos or video. I had originally planned to put it in the air under my DJI M600P, but am rethinking that more because I enjoy using it on the ground so much.
