Questions & Answers

Shopper : Have read all the reviews and like the sound of this camera. My Canon cam corder disappoints because of wind noise in video mode. Is it possible to filter this out on the Panasonic ?Ashour A : my camera is unable to read the memory card?MAUREEN K : I'm sorry we don't use the video that much so I don't really know. However, in the times we did use the video there was some wind, but it was windy in the location so I assumed it was because if that. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. But my husband loves the camera and when he lets me use it I love it also. It's a great buy, lightweight, fast and I would recommend it.DINUSHA D : Mostly take indoor videos, but have not had a problem with ambient noise so far.WOODROW P : I don't think so. Wind noise is a problem with any recording device. You might be able to do what you want, but not with theses cheaper video cameras. wwpCAROLE S : I have not noticed wind noise in the videos I have taken with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ 150. I find it more convenient to carry one camera that gives me both video and stills. This one has been great.
KURT B : does it come with a cable to connect the camera to the computer..and can I use it with other Panasonic cameras like FZ28 also?SANDRA A : Hi Kurt, My address is my last name at aol. You too have a good weekend! Happy shooting. Sandy AltrichterERIC B : I don't know about the FZ28, but the 150 comes with a standard mini USB cable that attaches to your computer.KATHY W : Kurt B, The UB Connection Cable is part of the standard accessories, shipped with the DMC-FZ150. Model number: K1HY08YY0017 Suggest you check Panasonic 's website for compatibility. Good Luck,MICHAEL R : Yes it comes with the cable. I would guess the cable is the same for your other Panasonic .DAVID K : Kurt, My FZ150 did not come with any type of cable. While I don't know what you needs are, in transferring images, I always remove my SD card and insert it into the computer. So, for that purpose a cable simply is not necessary. You should be aware that there are three plugs outlets for cables in the FZ150: I use one for a remote shutter release. The second is the standard small AV out plug. And the third is an HDMI plug for use while reviewing photos/videos on a TV. These can be served with standard cables which can easily be purchased locally or by Internet. Although I also have the Lumix FZ28, I'm not certain that I understand your question. Since there is no cable that shipped with my FZ150, the query seems to answer itself. But I presume that any cable used by one camera could be employed by the other. Hope this helps.. If not, fire back!MARK S : Adorama doesn't list one as being part of the bundle but If you Google > FZ150 what's in the box you will find reviews mentioning a USB cable. Mine came with a USB cable. So did my FZ28 but I never checked to see if they are interchangeable. These cables are cheap on eBay if you don't get one. Even if you have to buy one, that should not keep you from buying this great camera.MARK J : My unit came with the cable. I had the FZ28 before the FZ150 and like them both.SANDRA A : The FZ -150 does come with a Camera to USB (computer) cable. I do not know if the cable also fits the FZ28.
Shopper : I live in Canada, will the guarantee apply as I do not live in USA?MAUREEN K : I think you will have to get in touch with Panasonic. I can't make that call if they will guarantee anything. I'm thinking yes, but you need to call them first.DAVID P : You would have to ask Adorama or Panasonic.

Super camera

I bought this camera for my dad and just got to use it myself. It is a nice size, light weight and easy to hold. The controls are not intuitive so it takes some reading and getting used to how to operate it. Someone asked the question about how it performs in low light inside. Pop reports it performs extremely well in low light situations. I am impressed overall. It's a quality camera.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 is the camera in its FZ-series, which consists of super-zoom models offering extreme telephoto reach in a fixed-lens body. The core of the Panasonic FZ150 is a 1/2.3-inch MOS sensor with an effective resolution of 12.1 megapixels, from a total of 12.5 megapixels. MOS sensors are usually faster than their more common CCD brethren and the FZ150's sensor bears this out with a swift full-resolution burst shooting rate of 12 frames per second if autofocus is disabled and a still-commendable 5.5 frames per second with autofocus active.

It also allows for progressive scan Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixel, aka 1,080p) video at a rate of 60 frames per second, saved using the AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4 / H.264) format. Of course, the processor--a quad-core Venus Engine-branded unit--plays its own part in this speed, as well as in allowing an ISO sensitivity range of 100 to 3,200 equivalents (expandable to ISO 6,400 equivalent in High Sensitivity Auto mode).

The FZ150's sensor sits behind a powerful 24x optical zoom lens with a 35mm-equivalent focal length range from a useful 25mm wide angle to a powerful 600mm telephoto for stills and 28mm to 672mm for videos. Of course, with this much reach, mechanical image stabilization is a must, as you'd otherwise need shutter speeds in the region of 1/600-700th second or faster for blur-free images, which would restrict use to only ideal lighting conditions.

The FZ150 doesn't disappoint, not only including true optical image stabilization, but also providing what Panasonic refers to as an "Active" mode for video shooting, which takes advantage of the lower resolution with respect to still imaging and thereby provides a greater degree of correction. The Panasonic FZ150 relies on contrast detection autofocusing, but this too offers improved speed thanks to the quad-core Venus Engine CPU.
