I'm a novice birder who was searching for a camera to capture clear images of the birds I encountered during my nature walks. After researching, I landed on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300, and it's been awesome! Thanks to a helpful YouTube tutorial on setup, I swiftly got the hang of it and started snapping away. Birding has become a serene escape for me, connecting with nature and a newfound appreciation for life's simple pleasures. I'll try to post a few pics of some of the feathered friends I've recently spotted. While I've stuck with the auto function for now, I'm eager to explore the camera's full range of capabilities. My first experience with Adorama for this purchase was fantastic-the shopping and shipping process couldn't have been smoother.

I shoot scenics, mostly nautical and coastal scenes, and do some commercial shoots, like real estate pix. I bought this to replace my old Lumix FZ-50, which I used for 15+ years until it developed a spot on the sensor or optics. The 50 was extremely versatile, with the fully articulated screen (like the 300 has). The 300 is even more so with a greater zoom range, both wide and tele. I only wish the 300 had the manual zoom the FZ-50 had. Resolution of JPGS is not as good as a good SLR-type camera and lens, but fine for most of my work and I don't have to lug much extra gear. If I need higher res I can shoot RAW. If you want versatile without a bag of lenses, this is a fine camera. (I also own a pro-type video camera so I don't know how this camera is for video.)

This is an excellent, versatile camera. I would give it 5 stars except for several things. 1, I wish it had a manual zoom like my old FZ50. 2, 12mp sensor is outdated, should be 20mp. 3, the 50 allowed me to use autobracket with the timer (handy if you don't have a remote available). The 300 makes you select one or the other but not both. 4, Zoom of 600mm is great but other cams offer longer zooms. 5, my 300 failed after two weeks. Zoom stopped working. Adorama shipped me a new one immediately, but I decided to purchase an extended warranty because of the obvious defect of the first one.

Great camera. Just remember, the 600 mm lens is really the equivalent of a 200 mm lens on a normal DSLR with changable lenses. Kind of false advertising. I put it up against my Nikon with a 55 to 200 lens and it is almost equal to the 27 to 600 of the Lumix. Just keep that in mind when you make your decision.

As my first digital camera to venture into nature and travel photography, I could not be more happy with my purchase. It's super easy to learn, has many great features, and I love how that even though it's small compared to other cameras, it packs a HUGE punch. The greatest thing about it is that I don't have to spend money buying new lenses and lugging them around with me everywhere. The lens and zoom on this camera are incredible. Functions like wifi transfer are also super useful. I can see myself sticking with this camera for many years to come.

The tripod is small and lightweight, but perfect for my needs. It's also great to have another battery pack and charger on me when I've been out all day and need to capture more.

I love Lumix super zoom bridge cameras. I have been buying them for years, but I especially love the FZ300 because of its ability to handle rougher use out in the rain and dust.

I love this camera, the zoom really surpasses anything in this price range. The accessories were also worth the added price, very high quality stuff!

Very adaptable and powerful camera. Not a point and shoot camera, with a somewhat steep learning curve if you want to utilizes all its features.

I previously owned the FZ200 which I loved. Had all the automatic features (point and shoot) for my wife and had the manual features which I liked. This camera has it all and more. Adorama was a pleasure to purchase from. Fast delivery. Would buy from them again.

Even though I read the specs and reviews, this camera was larger and heavier than I anticipated. It was actually uncomfortable to hold and position, so I am returning it.

Owned this camera for a month and have been learning the different camera set ups to help me take my newbie photo skills to the next level. Wanted a bridge camera to take hiking in sometimes very wet conditions. This Panasonic Fz300 has been a great experience so far. I love the constant F-stop throughout its full range zoom. Touch flip out screen makes camera setup allot faster in order to take that keeper photograph. I like that it has 4k video with external mic option.

As described and at a reasonable price. Arrived on time, through 3 shippings. So far quite happy with the camera, but still learning!

Excellent camera for what it is designed to do. You can set it for quiet and it makes no noise when taking a photo. Similar size and weight to a dslr camera but without the need to change lens. 24-600mm ! Excellent glass especially when using RAW.

You should read this with the understanding that I'm not really very good with tech stuff. I saw the great reviews and bought hoping it would make taking especially long shots of wildlife easier. I knew I would have to learn many of the features but the manual seems really dated in that some instructions don't appear to match the camera in hand. The Panasonic Software allowed me to see the photos but not download them as the button used to accept and download wasn't on the screen. Called Panasonic and it seemed that there wasn't much help with the software to be had there although the folks were nice and suggested other ways I could manipulate my photos other than using the (provided) Panasonic software. The camera is new to me and I'm struggling to use many of the features but I can't blame the camera on what may be my own confusion about what to do and how to do it. I have taken it out to do some bird and distant seal shots (it's pupping season for Harbor Seals) but I've been forced to take a lot of different shots and hope some of them turn out. When the photos are good I'm really impressed with the clarity of shots using the powerful zoom. My main problem has been to find the correct focus at extreme distance. I hoped this camera viewfinder would make focus easy but it hasn't for me. Generally I'd say this is poorly supported by the Panasonic manual and software if, like me, you are not strong on technical stuff. I have no doubt of the quality others have attested to in other reviews.

I am pleased with the Panasonic Lumix ZS300. I found it to be good mix of features and price point (<$500). I wanted an upgrade from my DMC ZS7 (2010) - a typical pocket point and shoot: ZS300 (2015) gave me added zoom (24x vs 12x), much better low light performance, electronic viewfinder (much better than a LCD monitor in bright sunlight), faster start up and focusing, sharper lens. Because I will be using it for travel and nature photography the superior weather sealing and relatively lighter weight (only 1.6 lbs) versus most bridge cameras was a strong plus. Since this is an older camera, the price is reasonable (I've had two SLR's and telephoto lenses stolen, lost a few point and shoots cameras - so I put a limit on how much I am willing to invest). 24x zoom is about as much as one can reasonably use for hand held shooting. Versus higher zoom factor cameras, I expect better shorter focal length lens performance. On the negative side: No blue tooth / communication with other electronics is a challenge. 12.9 megapixal and 1/2 .3 sensor is way behind the industry standard in better cell phones, let alone cameras. The 1/2.3 sensor is essential to achieve the weight zoom benefit. For my purposes, too many buttons and choices and alternate ways of programming the camera. Intelligent Auto takes some fine pictures, but, to get the most out of the camera you will invest a lot of time (DAYS!) in understanding all the program choices. Download the advanced instructions PDF. Graham Houghton YouTube videos will help. Because of the complexity, setting up camera programs in the field (away from your 90 page instruction manual) may be a challenge. Your subject could be long gone before you get the camera set up if you are trying to optimize your shot. It is relatively light and compact for a bridge camera, but consider if that is what you need versus a pocket camera. Size dictates that this camera will be traveling around your neck, or in your pack back. I would NOT recommend the added complexity, and larger size for the average traveler. So consider carefully if you would not get more use out of a simpler, smaller camera, even at a higher price point. On the other hand, if you care about getting superior quality photos, the ZS300 should be an excellent starter full feature camera. I came close to returning it for something simpler and more compact myself. Then I took a zoom close up photo of a Cooper's Hawk eating a sparrow; 50 feet away; up in the shadows of a multi branch tree. I used Intelligent Auto; the exposure and focus were perfect. I don't think any pocket camera could have delivered that. Lastly, a shout out to Adorama. With free delivery (6 days), their added free bundle (case, UV lens, memory card, cleaning kit, and Corel post processing software, no other dealer came close in value.

Outstanding camera, proven by time & experience. One of the best in its class, and the best I've ever owned. Amazing lens with superb side angle and far-reaching telephoto handles every situation. The fast focus and excellent software make "shooting from the hip" easy and reliable. The FZ300 is a pure joy to use.

I bought this model because it is the only long-zoom camera in my price range that is billed as dust proof. So far so good: + It takes great pictures + Auto focus is quick enough for catching birds in flight + Can transfer pictures to the PC via WiFi without an app I subtracted a point for: - can't charge the battery in the camera - WiFi range is very poor - worse than any other WiFi device I own - Menu system for setting up parameters is confusing, hard to find what you want to change It is also too big and heavy to fit in any pocket but that is due to its great fast lens - F/2.8 up to equivalent 600mm focal length.

This DMC-FZ300 is, to say the least, fantastic, with all the necessary features to take great pictures. I have plenty of DSLR's and mirrorless like Sony and Fuji and for the price, it beats all of them. Excellent product.

I can not say enough about how great this camera is. I have a LOT of camera equipment- fancy, expensive equipment. I need a light and fast little rig to take with me when I walk the dogs and still want to shoot. This has more than exceeded my expectations and I must say I prefer it over all the fancy gear in my collection!

I have had both the user manual that I printed on line over 300 pages, and hands on free form, trying to learn as I go. This is both a point and click camera and a video camera. Examples: Shutter button, zoom lever, motion picture button, camera (off/on) switch. Stereo microphone, WiFi connection lamp. Has built in flash. Has many Computer terms and photo terms. The only short Cummings is it does Chew food or shine shoes.

I have had a series of Panasonic FZ cameras; but none were weather sealed or ruggedized. The FZ300 fills the bill for that and provides a very good all round camera that's not too big or heavy for a "walking around" camera. Image quality is very good in spite of having a small sensor.
