Shopper : is it water proof?WONDA S : Yes! We took it on our honeymoon and snorkeled with it. Took photos of fish and no water got in. Love this little camera.STEVE H : The camera is 'sort of' waterproof. My wife and I bought the Panasonic DMC_TS25 this last summer for a trip to Kauai, Hawaii. We wanted to snorkel with it and take it on boat trips where it might get salt spray on it. It worked well for a couple of days, but then it fogged up and quit working. Of course this happened right before some of our best snorkeling adventures, so we were without a camera. I have heard this about other brands of "waterproof" cameras too. It seems like you need a 'few' of them if you are going on a several day or longer trip. Our camera has started working again, but it was to late for the last half of our trip. Aside from the "waterproof" stuff, this camera is not a bad point and shoot, and we had fun with the panoramic mode.MEALINGS, M : Yes it is and works as advertised. We used it in the ocean snorkelling in Thailand and also in the resort swimming pool. Had no issues with leakage and got some great underwater shots AND video from our trip.christopher f : It is very waterproof to 23 feet. I oftenshoot images in creeks.MICHAEL H : This is a great camera for a clumsy hiker. It's drop proof, and water proof. I've had it in freshwater canyoneering, and it performs like a champ. The only drawback was having it in a case in the water. The condensation in the case caused the viewfinder to fog up. Outside the case, the water ran off the viewfinder and the pictures turned out fine. Just make sure the red button is not exposed-just like a safety. My only complaint is that every time you turn it on, it asks to review requirements for underwater use. I just slightly depress the viewfinder to remove the warning.BENYAMIN D : Yes. Great for what it is

I bought this camera as a present for my young daughter before a trip to Hawaii. It is bomb-proof as well as water-proof. She loved it, and took it everywhere: down the water slide at the pool, hiking on muddy trails, snorkeling and body surfing. It held up without a glitch. Oh, and it took surprisingly good pictures.

Wife loves it!!

Expensive for quality

Purchased for outdoor water use and guess it wil serve the purpose, however picture quality could be more sharp and shutter lag a lot faster. Battery dies suprisngly quick. Order a spare battery with this camera. Buttons were small with poor feedback.

Fantastic buy! Great customer service!

I have owned one of these cameras for the past 7 years. I lost one. Damaged another (and didn't buy the insurance) so now I own my third one! The one I just bought however, is a gift for my daughter. I love this camera for underwater and rainy day pics, etc that I just had to get one for her so she could take it to the pool and get great pics of my grand-daughter!!!!

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS25 Digital Camera (Red) is a compact "tough" camera that can shoot both photos and HD video on land and underwater. A 16.1MP CCD sensor provides clear, well-defined images even in low light and a Lumix DC Vario lens offers focal lengths from wide-angle to telephoto at 25-100mm in 35mm format. An 8x Intelligent Zoom function offers even longer digital zoom reach when needed. 23-area Autofocus and Quick AF combine to provide fast and accurate autofocus.

HD 720p video is available with a dedicated button one-touch button. Shooting a still photo while shooting video is supported and MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) compensates for camera shake in photo and video, offering clear images in low light or when shooting telephoto. Intelligent Auto (iA) Mode is available for point and shoot capability with all assistive features engaged and Scene Mode provides predefined settings to shoot certain types of scenes (Sunset, Starry Sky, Night Scenery, etc.) with the ideal camera adjustments. The camera also can shoot up to 8 frames per second in High-speed Burst Mode, shoot time-lapse images and offers Creative Control Mode in both standard and panorama dimensions so you can add specialized effects to your photos.

A 2.7" TFT LCD screen with 230k-dot resolution and anti-reflective coating provides composition and playback viewing. The LCD features 11-step auto brightness adjustment for better viewing based on light conditions.

The "tough" features of the TS25 allow it to go pretty much anywhere your adventures take you. It is waterproof to a depth of 23' (7 m), shock proof from a drop height of 5' (1.5 m), freeze proof to a temperature of 14deg.F (-10deg.C) and dust and sand proof. When dirty, the camera can be easily washed off with water. The TS25 features Advanced Underwater Mode which compensates for the red colors often lost when shooting underwater providing more natural looking underwater images. The camera also contains a torch light when shooting video underwater or at night and it can be simply used as a flashlight when you are not shooting.
