The Tizzy does have an awesome zoom for a camera that easily fits in a purse or large pocket. And I've taken some very nice outdoor shots. But ultimately, I have way too many blurry photos and indoor shots are disappointing. I use it for specialty shots where a large zoom is critical, but for all-around use, it can't live up to the quality of my Canon SD500.

The best feature is having a 10X zoom lens in such a compact camera. You can carry it in your pocket(even though it may stick out a bit) and have the advantage of such a powerful zoom lens with you at all times and at the same time the varied settings will cover most situations. Only drawback is the macro.

A Slim 10x Optical Zoom Using a Unique Prism - LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT LENS
The world's first integration of retractive lens with folded optics technology allows the zooming to occur horizontally within the camera. This makes it possible to pack a powerful 10x optical zoom equivalent to 35 to 350mm lens on a 35mm camera into a compact camera.
The Extended Optical Zoom function, which magnifies the image with minimal deterioration boosts the zoom power to a maximum 12.5x. The Venus Engine III provides a high sensitivity ISO 800 setting that captures images with minimal noise at full resolution.
This lets you use higher shutter speeds to minimize motion blur when you're shooting a moving subject, particularly in dim lighting. Even indoors, you can get crisp, clear, beautiful shots of subjects that won't hold still.
The most common cause of blurry shots is hand movement. Digital cameras are wonderfully light & compact, but for the same reason they can also be hard to hold still. Even pressing the shutter button can cause the camera to move.
And most people use the LCD monitor, arms outstretched to frame a shot, great for getting the shot you want, but adds to hand movement. & is a real concern when you're taking handheld telephoto, macro or self-portrait shots, or when shooting in dim lighting.
The answer to the poroblem? An advanced optical image stabilizing system called MEGA Optical Image Stabiliization which uses built-in gyrosensors to detect camera movement & then shifts in the opposite direction to compensate. The system is completely optical, it does not affect the CCD or image processing so you get sharp, clear images with minimal degradation.
It lets you reduce the shutter speed more than 3 steps below the conventionally accepted hand movement limit. It greatly expands what you can do with a handheld digital camera.
For "motion blur", the blurring that can result if your subject moves even a little in low lighting we added a High Sensitivity mode that allows you to shoot at up to ISO 1600 by using the pixel-mixed readout method, effectively raising the shutter speed. It minimizes motion blur, & also lets you take clearer, sharper shots in dim lighting without using a flash.
Choose from several auto focus modes, spot, 1-point (normal or highspeed), 3-point high-speed, & 9-point, to suit the scene you're shooting. The DMC-TZ1 also introduces a new Linear AF system, which has resulted in the achievement of an industry-leading fast auto focusing time.
The DMC-TZ1 has a release time lag as low as 0.006 seconds & can also fire off consecutive shots at a swift 3 frames per second, & offers Unlimited Consecutive Shooting, so you can keep shooting until the SD Memory Card is full.
With its 2.5" diagonal size, 207,000 pixels, this High-Res LCD monitor makes it easy to see text & small thumbnail images. The CCD increases the brightness level of the live image on the LCD.
