Bob S : Hello, will this adapter work on the Lumix LX5 camera?HERBERT S : No . This filter and adapter were made for the. LX 7. You should really consider buying the LX 7, it has a faster lens and. It's better. The LX 5 has a f 2. and the LX 7 has a f 1.4 lens.SAM K : I purchased this for my LX7 and it works great. I don't own a LX5 so I have no way to actually try it. I did however go to the Panasonic website to see what they had to say and this kit is compatible with only the LX7. I also went to several other camera suppliers to look at LX5 accessories and none list any form of filter adapter or any filter size for your camera. Sorry.PATRICK T : No, I don't think it will work on the Lumix LX5. The DMW-FA1 adapter has threading to attach it to the lens of the LX7. The LX7 has a removable ring on the end of it's lens- which screws off and is replaced by the adapter. I don't think the LX5 has threading on it's lens to accommodate the adapter.VINCENT G : No the adaptor is made for the LX 7 specifically. It has a proprietary ring that then allows a lens filter to be attached, plus the lens cover, which is larger than the one the camera brings.

I have not recieved this one yet, as it has been backordered. The Lumix filters seem to be nicely made ( I bought the polarizers in 37mm and 46mm). I just went with the Lumix adaptor based on my experience with their filters.HERBERT S : Look on eBay. There is an after-market model that is crudely made. I recommend the Panasonic for a few extra bucks.MICHAEL S : At this time, I believe the DMW-FA1 adapter is the only one available for the LX7. I ordered it at the time I bought my LX-7. I received my camera quickly but the adapter was so new that it was on backorder for months. During this wait, I checked with other dealers and Panasonic directly; but since the item was so new, no one had one to sell. Adorama kept me informed intermittently so I knew I would get one as soon as possible. Then voila. I finally recieved it a month or so ago. Personally, I'm not comfortable without a protective filter and lens hood so this item fills the bill. Just keep in mind that if you attach a 37mm lens hood for protection, the LX7 is no longer a pocket camera. I recommend getting one though.

Required if to use filters with the LX7

This is a required accessory if you want to use filters on your LX7. One additional benefit i noticed is that the camera will not longer give you an error if you forget to remove the cap before turning it on. You have to use the new cap that comes with this accessory set. A little expensive but it works.

Good product for attaching a polarizer filter

Good product for adding a polarizer filter to the Lumix LX7. I have to wonder why it was necessary. Couldn't Panasonic have built it in to the lens?

A must have accessory

Well, it works. It is fairly easy to put on, and remove. Quality seems decent, but I thought it was a little pricey for what it is. I also kind of wish they offered a version with a white lens cap for the white LX7. Otherwise, it is a good accessory to have.

The Panasonic DMW-FA1 Filter Adapter Kit provides a 37mm aluminum filter adapter and a side-squeeze/snap-on lens cap to fit the Lumix DMC-LX7 digital camera. The filter adapter screw-mounts to the camera's lens and provides the thread to screw on various 37mm filters. The lens cap snaps into place on the adapter for protection of the lens when not shooting and has the Lumix name emboldened on the front.
