Questions & Answers

Shopper : Will this adapter allow me to attach the camera to a telescope with a 2" focuser.? Thanks.AL K : I HAVE NO CLUE I USE IT FOR ADDING FILTERS ONLYBRAD F : I have not done that but, if your 2" focuser fits 48mm thread mounts, it should work fine.KURT M : Yes, with additional parts. You can create a digiscoping setup with telescope, eyepiece, adapters, and camera. I have purchased the parts needed but must admit have not tried it yet. In any case, here is what I have, which should work. --Leica DLUX-4 or Panasonic LX3. Possibly DLUX5/LX5 has same thread. --Panasonic DMW-LA4. Attaches to DLUX-4/LX3 to establish a receptacle for 46mm filters, to which myriad digiscoping setups may be attached. The following is what I added: --Adorama Step-Down Adapter Ring 46mm lens to 37mm filter size. --TeleVue Digital Camera Adapter 37mm for the 35/27mm Panoptics and 32/40mm Plossls. --TeleVue Plossl 32mm eyepiece. --you would also need a 1.25" to 2" adapter to put the 32mm Plossl eyepiece in a 2" focuser. TeleVue also makes adapters specifically for Radians. Basically, the DMW-LA4 gives your DLUX-4/LX3 a threaded receptacle to attach 46mm filters. Good luck, I hope this helps. Kurt

Most usefull add on

Like it a lot, makes the camera easier to handle and has been my most usefull add on. Great for filters, lens shade, and grip as well as mounting other lenses in front of the prime lens.

High Quality Machined Aluminum

The Panasonic lens adaptor is a high quality heavyweight piece of aluminium that while expensive, is worth it for what you get. If you plan to put a protective filter in front of the lens (of course you are), than a well made dimensionally stable adaptor is critical. If you are going to to add the Panny wide angle lens, than a good adaptor is even more important. It is only common sense no? Why put a $12 knock off on? Look at it another way. Want a poor man's Leica? Put the adaptor on with a good quality filter to protect the lens. Get yourself a Voightlander 21mm finder from Adorama, and you have yourself a Leica like it used to be. I use it this way all the time and it works great.
