Panasonic DMW-LA7 Conversion Lens Adapter for DMW-LT55, DMW-LC55 Lens

I use this with my FZ200 and the DMW-LT55 teleconverter and it functions exactly as Panasonic designed it. This adapter is high quality (and a bit pricey for an aluminum tube). The adapter screws to the camera body (not the lens) and the tele convertor that screws onto this adapter. Thus, the FZ200 lens zooms inside of this adapter and places no strain on the camera's zoom motor. At some point, I plan to get the DMW-LC55 close-up lens which requires this adapter also.

Panasonic DMW-LA7 is used with DMW-LT55 and DMW-LC55 to increase the magnification of distant subjects and permit higher magnification of close subjects at greater distance respectively. i.e. the DMW-LC55 allows maximum image size at a slightly greater distance from the camera (as opposed to being right up against the lens). It can be tricky to properly thread onto the camera due to thread pitch and large diameter. Also, the camera needs to be told that it is attached via in camera menu (to properly limit the automatic lens). I used it with the DMW-LC55. With the DMC-FZ200 this adaptation made the camera significantly more prone to shaking induced blur. I am suspicious that the stabilization optics of the camera might not be properly tuned to compensate for motion with the adapter in place. My assessment is that with the DMW-LC55 it is likely to be of marginal general utility. It is best used in manual focus mode.
