Allan B : How well does this unit work on the LX 5?
What shooting information do you see on the eye peice?
Thank you for your help.GILBERT A : I am better able now to answer this question than when the question was for sent to me. This viewfinder shows an approximate field of vision. It does not show exactly what the LCD monitor sees, but it is close. Its primary value, as far as I can see, is for those moments in bright sunlight when you simply cannot make out what's in the monitor. Hope this helps.JACK H : don't use it that often; primarily use viewfinder to see subject when sunlight prohibits view on LCD screen. No camera information is visible, just the subject framed .JON F : I intended to use this optical finder on my Olympus E-P3 with their 12mm (24 equiv) f:2.0 lens. The finder is beautifully made BUT it's viewing angle is too narrow . . . cuts off too much of an accurate 24mm view to suit me. This became evident when I matched a tripod mounted camera rear LCD view to the view the optical clip on viewfinder showed. I have no reason to believe that this would change by mounting the finder on another camera (LX 5). In a perfect world I would be using it. Jon -KENNETH O : Use it myself on an LX-3.
No information in the viewfinder other than a grid outline. No electronic information linkage. The finder works pretty well, but note that it displays the maximum field of view, and you need to remember that when you zoom in. The finder display won't change.
MARTI C : Do you have this? Need for a Nikon Coolpix P6000
NH-VF28 external optical viewfinderSTEPHEN R : Yes I do have this viewvinder.JON F : Yes I do. Beautifully made. Clear and sharp. BUT, it is supposed to show a 24mm equivalent view (I use a 12mm, 24mm equivalent f:2 lens on an Olympus E-P3). I wanted an optical viewfinder to shoe mount. This VF does not show an accurate 24mm view, but instead is narrower than I would prefer. Narrower enough to be annoying, I think. A bazzillion dollar Leica 24mm optical viewfinder was not the option, either. It's 3 Stars out of 5 Stars in my rating.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?GILBERT A : This was the only viewfinder available for the DMC-LX3 and I felt I needed it for photo-taking in bright day-time lighting that made seeing the screen difficult.
