I was glad that there is a separate charger for the spare battery. I actually like that there is a cord so the charger doesn't cover over a second outlet.

This design is compact but needs an AC cord that detracts a lot from its potability. The charger for the DMC-ZS5 had its AC plug integrated into the charger. It was very portable. If you must have a cord, offer a small or pigtail cord.

I am disappointed that Panasonic does not make a charger for this battery that plugs directly into the wall socket. Who wants to carry around that heavy duty cord and it is not always convenient to charge the battery thru the camera tying it up for 170 minutes.

As was noted in the earlier review, this 'charger' doesn't come with any way to plug it in. It needs a standard (non-polarized) 2-prong AC cord to be used. The product arrived with NO cord, NO instructions and therefore, NO way to use it as delievered. (BTW, that other review is dated 10/15/13, but was NOT on the product page when I placed my order in late Nov.) Now, if you have an old 2-prong AC cord (used on many PC and camcorder AC Adapters) or want to go buy one, you can make it work, but to be clear, I thought I was buying a complete charger, not a product that needed other parts to become functional.

No where does it say that this requires a power cord in the description. Nor does it have a flip out plug the way all the other chargers have. Very misleading. I'm returning.
