Review Summary
Polaroid's Digital MiniPortrait (DMP) system is a plug & play, top-of-the-line digital camera and thermal printing system - all in one. It's extremely easy to use, & requires minimal staff training. Intuitive Icons lead the operator through the imaging process.
The system also comes "pre-loaded" with framing templates for U.S. Passports and INS photos - making it easy to satisfy government specifications. Unlike any other digital passport system, image capture and image printing is achieved by touching one button.
The camera, weighing 5.5 lbs., can be either hand held or tripod mounted, and the large tilting preview LCD screen is the largest available on the market. The wide zoom range (6.2 - 18.6mm) makes this an ideal camera for proper baby and children photography.
Image processing software, which is tailored for producing high quality document images, is included as part of the system.
The Digital Miniportrait can be used with a professional studio lighting set-up or on-board flash (x-sync or slave lights), and produces crisp, sharp images in a range of four print formats - 1, 2, 4, and 6 shots up (all the same image).
The DMP uses new proprietary Polaroid Thermal Media and produces high-quality 300 dpi images at a 80-90 second print time. The Digital MiniPortrait Camera's flexible imaging options also allow retailers to meet different customer needs which will generate additional profits.
The system produces 2-up images required for passport and INS purposes, 1-up for single Portrait and 4-to-6-up configurations for wallet-sized or ID-sized photo options.
