Questions & Answers

Shopper : When my daughter was much younger, she 'cut out' some of our family photos so they are not straight edged. Would I be able to transfer these to a CD? Thank you.LESLIE M : Since the photos have angled edges, you would have to secure them in a balanced position (level and plumb) in the picture holder before you scan them, or use a program such as Picasa or Photoshop that will allow you to straighten them after they are scanned and before you save them. Once you save the pictures to a file on you computer, you can save them to any memory device (CD, flash drive, etc.)ALLAN O : Sorry, I have copied only slides so far so I can't really answer the question. I think if you pasted it on a blank card the size of a photo you probably could. Give it a try.TERRY D : You should not have a problem with irregular shaped photos. EDWIN S : Sure, once the scans get digitized you can do all sorts of things with them.
Shopper : Will this work with an Apple Mac book?JON S : The one that I bought did not work with Mac. I put it on a PC and you also have to watch the operating system that you're using. I don't know if it supports Windows 7 or not.REGAN A : Only if you load a virtual machine and then Windows.ANDREW R : Unfortunately no, this unit is not Mac compatible.
Bill R : Will this device handle old negatives from camera's such as the old Brownie?ALLAN O : Sorry. I have only transferred slides so far.SUSAN C : I have not tried using a negative on the ImageBox. I copied 2500 slides on to my computer. A lot of these slides dated back to the 70's and early 80's. I had no problem with these old pictures on slides. I don't know if this helps at all, but thought I would pass this on. SusanBETTY J : Your negatives have to fit in the media holder for negatives. 35mm negatives work fine, anything larger does not work.RUDY F : worst item ever purchased. never workedJON S : Hi Bill, To my knowledge and experience, this only handles 35mm stuff and finished photos for the scan. I'm not even sure how it would handle 35mm negatives. I've only used it for slides and finished photos. JonLESLIE M : Bill - There is a negative holder for 35mm negatives only so you would have to clip the old Brownie camera negatives to fit that holder. There is also a 35mm slide holder that has a 2"x2" opening for 4 slides that you might be able to put the negatives in with less clipping. This particular device was not made to accommodate Brownie negatives. Otherwise, it is a great device for the price.REGAN A : Mine only has holders for 35 MM slides/negatives. It is light in the manual/instructions. I imagine if you could put those in a 35 mm slide holder, it would. It produces really nice scans for mr.ANDREW R : This will depend on the size of the negative, this unit will only work with 35mm sildes/negatives and prints up to 4"x6". I believe that negatives from a Kodak Brownie came in several sizes (depending on the model), however they are all larger than 35mm and would not work with this device.

Unreliable product

Worked on a couple hundred slides then malfunctioned. Presently it will not work at all. Very frustrating to have it malfunction with so little use.

Worth the Money

No problem loading software. I connected the Box directly to my computer with the USB port. I have been scanning old negative, 1800 for far, to have them in digital archive. I have been very please with the results so far. The Box takes just a few seconds to determine the best lighting for each negative, then I hit save and this only takes a few seconds. About 95% of the negative the Box does a good job with the lighting, the other 5% it is off more than I like. I correct all pictures in Photo Shop so this is not a big deal. I scanned a few hard copy of photos and I can not say it does the best for them. All in all for the money I have been very happy with the product.

One of my all-time favorite purchases!

I have many old photos of my family, and I have been adding them to my files as Jpegs so I can send them to my cousins. It means so much to me to be able to save these valuable items and save them for my children. I am so pleased with the ease of use and the quality of the scanned images. Would not change a thing!
