Pro: * Can automatically scan an entire roll of 35mm film without much supervision - A big time saver. * Imaging is excellent * So far, seems like a high-quality, reliable instrument. Con: * The proprietary software included sucks. Luckily, SilverFast is also included, and it can handle batch processing of a whole roll decently well (even if not very intuitively)

Professionally i've used a number of film scanners since they first came out in the late 1980's. For the money i find this scanner to produce sharp, clean scans. Even a couple old tri-x negs that had issues cleaned up better than the old Nikon LS 4000 that i had. I did contact the support side to get some advice in cropping and adjusting film placement ( this scanner is a auto feeder without a neg strip holder) Found the support people emailed me back quickly with clear directions (should have read the instruction manual first) SO many thanks to the Adorama sales folks and to the SCANACE support
