Fills a need in the Q system

I bought this to use in the one area the Q system fails, extreme telephoto. This adapter lets me use any K mount lens on the Q. I used a 100 F4 macro as a 450+ tele for Bluebird nesting shots. It works well and has a leaf shutter, if the lens has aperture controls you can use them or the aperture on the adapter. I does what I needed it to do. My only gripe is that the tripod shoe adaptor is not included and hard to get from Pentax, a trip to Ebay got me a decent third party foot. If you like extreme telephoto shooting, this is a good option. Next full moon I will try it with my 500mm lens.

Pentax Adapter Q for K-mount Lenses

I use the adapter for all my K mount lenses, it adds a shutter that doesn't require the use of the cameras electronic shutter. This eliminates the jallo effect the electronic shutter creates on some images. Nice build but a built in tripod mount would be nice for the price

The Pentax Adapter Q for K-mount lenses allows the use of PENTAX K-mount lenses on the PENTAX Q Series cameras.

Adding compatibility with a full range* of K-mount lenses opens up new photographic possibilities.

Extra-powerful super-telephoto shooting is obtainable with the 5.5x focal length multipler achieved with K-mount lenses on the Q camera body. For example, the PENTAX DA* 300mm F4 ED[IF] SDM telephoto lens can be used as a 1650mm super-telephoto lens (35mm equivalent).
